Hey man, can you take a quick video of the LED on the front blinking from a txt or an email? this is VERY important to me as I felt the LED on the Incredible was absolutely terrible in comparison to the LED on the Droid!

Bluetooth issue fixed:

it took me a couple attempts to get the phone to stay paired with my car deck but it has now connected automatically the last 6 times on its own with no issues. The deck now also displays the correct name of the device "Droid X" on the lcd display, before it said "unknown"

now we need easier copy and paste in the browser and flash, once those two things are implimented i wil be TOTALLY content....well until the next new thing is anounced with functions not yet thought of

Just a note about zooming in on text, I went to the nytimes website and when you double press to zoom on the text it does rearrange things to fit the screen and I don't see any problems with jagged text when zoomed in all the way. You will see it on a few letters here and there if you are really looking for it but you would have to be extremely picky to call it a problem.

I also like the camera hump on the top of the phone, it makes it much easier to grab and pull out of my pocket.

The scrolling between home screens seems to be at least as fast as my Incredible was just not quite as smooth.

That right there is the main differences ppl say when they compare Launcher Pro vs. ADW. Both are great IMO.

I can see the same thing happening here. Thanks for that input.

That also, I found out about using my Droid. Going from inside to outside, I couldnt see the screen good. The auto brightness wasnt working right, or my Beautiful Widgets Brightness widget was messed up. Once I turned off auto brightness, turned it all the way up, I didnt see the problem.

Another Bluetooth issue Fixed on the DX: When using the N1 or the Dinc, anytime i listeded to bluetooth audio on my Eclipse Deck in my truck the sound would cut out when the phone was trying to pick up a nearby wifi signal, it was annoying to the point that i had to remember to turn off wifi when i got in my truck and turn it back on when at home or work, not the reason i bought a "smartphone" The iPhone 3g was the last phone i had that never had this problem....until now...the DX does not cut in and out with wifi enabled and stereaming bluetooth auditon in my truck. this means i can dump my widget for turning wifi and bluetooth off.. back to owning a smartphone, nice
 
Can one of you guys show us pics or video of what the UI can look like with ADW or Launcher Pro? Does it even look any different with them, or can it change the look?
Can you change the app drawer to do 3d or zoom in effect, and can you change anything else like dock buttons and icons?

I would love to know this as well. :) I'm really curious to see how ADW or Launcher Pro looks on the device.
 
got my first offer from a guy on ebay who wants to buy it.. i said the second one sold for 1326 so that is where i am starting. he said he could afford pretty much any price so we will see. and he is located here in ohio.

The third one sold for $930 and we are less then 2 weeks away from launch...if you put it on ebay now you'd probably get $750-800 max most likely.

LOL you think I'm a fan boy? Just weighing the negatives. My incredible cooked itself into a constant reboot so I'm back to my WM phone and one of my two ipod touches. Another Incredible in the office has a cracked screen. We've got some other WM phones, bb's, two LG Allys, a couple of Moto Q's which are bulletproof and still working after years. Our sales person has a Driod 1. Some other employees have iphones and a whole bunch of dumb phones. Oh, yea I forgot one Eris too.

I've probably had every brand since 1990 myself. They all have problems. The key is knowing as many as possible going in so the dissappointment won't be a surprise. If I have to go back to the Inc, I will. If I have a reliable one I'm happy. If the X is better, cool. Don't you want to hear the bad stuff too? It's not a reflection on Wake29 if the phone has a problem.

You're right about the fan boy fighting being unproductive.

what29, not sure if I missed this, but can you confirm the built-in swype does indeed have a mic icon so we can do voice input without switching keyboards? Anything else different between built-in swype and the beta?

Yes i can confirm that the Swype app that comes with the X has a mic button int the lower right corner of the keyboard, next to the ;) key
 
There hasn't been any on ebay for a few days. I've been half tempted to put mine up for auction just so to see what it would go for.
 
It's official. I'm now on Verizon. The local corporate Verizon store gave us two LG loaner phones to use until the Droid X comes out. The store normally opens at 10AM, but he said they are opening the doors at 9AM on July 15th for DX customers. My two Droid Xs are guaranteed to be waiting for me :)

How can anyone look at these results and say the iPhone 4 is the clear winner?

iPhone is 15% brighter

iPhone has 2% better contrast ratio

Color depth is the same but the Droid software has not caught up yet

Droid X color accuracy is 600% better

This is a case of the typical iPhone bias we all witness and are sick of is at work. On average the Droid edges out the iPhone having the much greater color accuracy.

So you really have to look at the numbers and not read the rhetoric.

Funny how everyone says Samsung sucks...they are known for having the one of the best video playbacks on any phone..do some research on the i8910 Omnia HD, it was released in May of '09 and it ALREADY had an 8mp camera, 720p recording, AMOLED screen, Dolby surround sound with DUAL speakers...if it had 1GHZ processor and Android on it no phone would beat it.

Now don't get me wrong here, I am not saying the Galaxy S is the best phone out there...in fact the Motorola X ALMOST had me running to Verizon....but since my contract on T-Mobile is not up till April of next year I will just get the Galaxy S Vibrant coming July 21st.

I just merely wanted an unbiased opinion on how good the X screen was compared to the Galaxy S.

I think the resolution of the iPhone is really high, I just don't know that it is something you would really say looks that much better.

I have been fighting with iPhione users for the last six monthes about resolution, 854 x 480 vs 320 x 240 and they told me they could not see the difference or liked the iPhone screen better. I don't know that it matters when you get beyond a certain point, unless if you look at your device with a magnifying glass.
