**** OFFICIAL **** ICS COMING SOON thread... Post all questions and info here!!!!

Anyone else having a problem where the unlock screen with the key isn't showing up? Mine just goes straight to my unlock pattern. Any ideas how to fix this?

How do we hide apps in the app drawer?

Is there any way to set ringer volume and notification volume together like on GB?

Thanks!
You can disable an app by managing apps and then clicking disable. I did this for most of my vzw apps.

I am also curious to find out how to link the volumes. I think that was a very logical feature...

This isn't a problem but rather how ICS chose to represent their lock screen. Unfortunately if you pick an actual lock screen the 'slide' function goes away.

I'm still learning my phone and don't want an ICS upgrade at this time. What do I need to do in order to ensure that an auto-upgrade to ICS DOES NOT occur to my phone?

Just choose to ignore the update when you are notified of it. It will start to get very persistent though and quite annoying.

Out of curiosity, why wouldn't you want the update. I understand that you are learning about the phone, but you will have to do that all over again after the update.

After ICS download, the wifi and the bluetooth widgets disappeared. Would a reset bring them back? This is my wifes phone.

Along with many other things that were there in Gingerbread the individual power control widgets have been removed. There are other options available in the market as well as the stock Power Control widget.

power controls is good. you can pin it to the notifications bar.

Overall, I'm not impressed with how ICS runs on my Maxx. It seems a bit more laggy that it was on GB. And my battery life definitely is not better.

I'm thinking Verizon should have had everyone do a factory reset for installing this. Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the problems folks are experiencing relate to this. It was my problem, not resetting.

Question: connecting and disconnecting to a computer has changed. Now to disconnect, it appears you have to go to the computer's taskbar and click on 'Safely remove hardware'. Before it was just going into Razrs bar and doing it. Or am I missing something? I tried to 'uncheck' the box on the Razr when disconnecting and it wouldn't let me.

I finally got my phone working the way I wanted it to work. After reading many post of those who have issues after the upgrade, I don't want to be bothered with it. I don't want to lose Flash either, which has been reported across the board. Why would I (or anyone else for that matter) want to upgrade to an OS that takes away function/feature?

Flash goes away in jelly bean 4.1, not ICS4.04. And ICS is better, smoother, and you can disable or remove stock Motorola/ Verizon apps with no future update issues. This is the reason most people root their phone.

Flash is just removed from the OS package. It is still available in the market just like it always has been. It isn't until Jelly Bean that native flash support will be gone from the phone and that is something Adobe decided.

As far as other problems people are reporting, I can't respond about specifics. Overall I find ICS to be an incredible improvement to the phone. I hope you change your mind.

Hi everyone.
I have the Galaxy S 2.
Got the update yesterday, had basically no problems with update. However, I have gone into sound settings and made sure my text messages have sound, but when I get a text, there is no sound to it. The sound volumes are up also. Not sure what to do with that.
Next question: When I go to input who I want to send a text to, it has several duplicates of people in the contact list, instead of just one. I've gone into my contacts list settings and told it to list only those on the phone, but in the texting/message part, it still shows multiple of the same contact. Is there any way to stop this??
I dont want to have to reset it. Those really are the only problems I've seen.
Thank you

I have no clue y these other pple r saying flash is still working fine,it IS NOT! SOME flash plays, but most of the sites that run flash that I used to enjoy with gb,DO NOT WORK WITH ICS NOW. I have tried everything down to a factory reset to no avail, this does seem to be the only prob I am having (but to me its a HUGE problem)

You guys must not be reading the same threads here that I am. There's at least a dozen where folks are reporting that "stuff" stop working after the ICS upgrade, ranging from e-mail, to locking the screen to Flash, to notifications, to push updates, etc.

I think I'll wait a bit and let you folks finish the release-candidate testing of this "official" release. :)

This is actually not a bad feature and is there to protect the contents of your sd card. With gb, the safest way to disconnect your phone from computer was to "safely remove hardware" from computer first then from the phone. Safely removing hardware (phone, sd cards, flash drives, external hard drives, etc) makes sure that there is no data/information transferring between the pc and the device before you disconnect. If there is data transferring when you disconnect, then half the data can be left on your pc and the other half on your device, which can ruin the data or the functions of the device.

Well i thought my battery life was better. But after yesterday and today i am mad. I am at 10 percent after 9 hours of moderate use. I am not happy with this at all. With gingerbread i got 12 to 14.

err...hmmm.

Just for the sake of completeness. Pull up the apps list. Click the Widgets tab and scroll right till you see the particular Beautiful Widget you want. Select that, and drag it where you want it on the homescreen.
