If it already pass FCC then the phone would have to be finished, so I wouldn't take what Samsung said serious.

Hopefully the guy was wrong.
Anyhow I really don't like the physical changes they made to the tmobile galaxy s2(too rounded for my liking) please at&t/sprint give us the same rectangle(ish) GSII.
 
At this point I think I'm going to wind up passing on this phone and waiting for the Nexus Prime or HTC Holiday this phone is just taking to long for me and I'm sick of it just release the damn phone already.
 
By the time it will launch, the features that seem to us so new and cool will be on every other phone. :))
 
I hope this phone comes out soon, my inspire is such a crappy design phone and will never get a htc phone again. I wish there was more information on the nexus prime.

My thoughts exactly. This phone BETTER come out before Nexus Prime.

I think if it doesn't come out this month then I'm done waiting for it, I'll pass and wait for another beast of a phone to come out soon after. And if there is no news in the next week or two I'm definitly done

If it doesn't it is royally screwed. I won't give 2 thoughts to buying the Prime over this GS2. Hell I pondered getting the Nexus S, but stopped myself because I didn't want a single core with only 512mb of RAM. The fact that the Nexus phones gets updates first though makes it very tempting.
 
Can anyone tell me why everyone is saying that the us sg2 will be using a snapdragon instead of the exynos?

Not everybody is saying so. Maybe some comments on front news page about T-mobile Hercules. But it's otherwise very potent phone spec wise. I guess Samsung didn't want to divert their processor chip resource to carrier whose future is uncertain. And dual core snapdragon is no slouch either as you see in Evo 3D.

They will probably put Exynos in SGS2 for AT&T, Verizon I guess because it's two primary US carriers that they need to compete intensely with Apple, Motorola.
 
Not gonna wait until October...although I don't care for the large size of the LG Thrill (The SGII would be a bit smaller because it has less of a border width around its screen and it would be lighter), I'm thinking I will end up owning the LG Thrill which will likely debute with 2.3, but even if not it will be upgradable soon enough for me.

$99 and you get a dual core processor with dual channel memory all on a phone that also can do 3D (I don't care about that but in this case I look at it as a neato "perk")

Reviews about this phone are good and performance looks good.

Can someone give me a good reason not to get this phone?
 
The only solid piece of info that I know for sure......... this wait in infinitely frustrating!!!! I guess I'll research other phones that might release soon after the GS2 to see how they compare.

LG Thrill would be good alternative if it launches with the latest gingerbread. But I won't hold my breath on it launching with gingerbread and LG is not exactly known for timely updates yet. And 3D features makes the phone too bulky for folks who don't need 3D or feel it gimmicky including myself.

I know this is painfully long wait for US SGS2, but there won't be any better phone within this year beating it handily in performance. At least not until winter.

so with no release date in site i decided to keep my infuse for now. i will either do buy back at best buy or use an upgrade on one of our lines later.

interesting find this morning....the hercules was spotted at a samsung event friday....shocked no one else posted anything about it

I know one thing if a good looking phone comes out and the GS2 still has no release date near or in sight I am jumping on it. I am tired of waiting for this thing. It has passed ridiculous. If they can't get it out in the next month or so, they really don't deserve my money. I am tired of hearing oh it is coming out next month. Next month "it is coming out next month...repeat repeat repeat...I can't believe it has taken this long to get the phone over here. This is an utter and complete failure on Samsung and the carriers parts. Also the Nexus Prime is just around the corner and it is probably going to get to the point where I say hey I have waited this long, might as well wait for the Prime. Because I have a feeling it is going to crush the GS2 from what I have heard about it. Also the HTC Holiday looks pretty good too.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if it rolls into October. But with the crazy speed that Android is advancing at the moment (too fast imo, not sustainable), they might need to up the specs on it a bit.

I wonder if their legal entanglement with Apple has any bearing atm. Samsung stopped selling GalaxyTab's in Australi now. Android's getting hit from several directions actually right now. When patents attack Android

Nexus Prime will also be made by Samsung and it won't come here around the same time as GS2. At least 3~4 months later after GS2 release here. So you are looking at much longer wait if you forgo GS2.
