I have tried this process over thirty times with the same result. Debugging is on, SD card is out, restarted, downloaded and redownloaded drivers and kms.zip, I'm out of ideas. any help would be greatly enjoyed before this prevail finds it's way through a window.

I've got some questions, maybe somebody can explain it to me. Is one click root and shabbymod 0.9 the same? Do both root your phone? Is one better than the other? What should I use to root my phone? Thanks to anyone who helps. Froyo EE14 ver. Android 2.2.2 ver. Kernel 2.6.32.9 ver.

Try it again accept this time double click on the PrevailToExsistence.bat file once the Samsung logo appears :cool:. Be sure to let us know how it works out.

They are not the same. You want to use one click root to root your phone and shabbymod to jazz it up.
 
What other things should I do after one click root and shabbymod. If you have a specific order then please list them that way. Thanks.
 
I don't have the prevailtoexhistance.bat file i think thats what its called when I downloaded could it be a bad download
 
You could try and download it again. I know I would if I thought it should be there. As I have always heard......better to be safe than sorry.

Edit downloaded the drivers and my Vista PC 32 bit wont read the phone but it will charge the phone any ideas how to resolve this issue? I've reinstalled the drivers 3 times and still the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.
 
You can go to START, CONTROL PANEL, DEVICE MANAGER. Open it and with your phone already hooked up to your pc, find your phone in the list. It may be under the USB listing. Double click it and go to the driver tab and click UPDATE DRIVER. If you have the downloaded drivers on your pc you can click BROWSE and point it to the specific location of the drivers you are trying to install. Install the drivers this way and this may solve your problem. Sometimes windows needs a little help. I haven't had any issues since I am running windows 7. I had to do this all the time with windows 95 and 98. Hope this helps.
 
Try to hook it up to a different PC using a Windows Vista OS. If your phone connects and it installs the drivers, then your PC is the problem. If it still doesn't connect, I would try someone else's PC, with a different OS other than Vista, and see if it connects. This would rule out that it could be your phone.
 
Back to my question that I was asking...........What other things should I do after one click root and shabbymod. If you have a specific order to install them then please list them that way. Thanks again for all the help.
 
Ok guys I have tried this over and over again and it does not seem to be working for me. The drivers are installed, dowload zip file, extracted and ran, still has not worked. I'm not a newbie at this but it soes not seem to be working for me. The debugging option is on and did a factory reset also. Any other options guys?

I too am having the exact same error messages......and double clicking once the initial Logo appears......airplane mode...card out...ran adb reboot....debugging running....standing on my head.......

This is driving me nuts....:eek:...all I want to do is tether this phone.....lol.....

After reading through this entire thread for a few hours. Finally got to this post and this attachment rooted it for me! THANK YOU! To get the attachment click the > button next to his name in my quote.

Thank you to everyone who is working on these rooting files and I'm not gonna look into backing up my plants vs zombies so I can start checking out the mod. I'll try and summarize most of the thread links I encountered for the lazy.

Forgot to add some more info for others.
I have windows 7 64bit.
My phone was in airplane mode (this probably doesn't matter) and had the SD card out and debug on. The phone was on and loaded before I ran the PrevailToExistence in windows.

Extra commands for supers. You need to have the SD card back inside the phone to install. What you download from the market is not the app it is the installer, this means you need to run the installer to install it. So technically you install twice.

The drivers can be found in various places all over this board. One of the easiest places for me to remember is in hroark13's Odin thread, which is stickied in this (all things root) board.

I got them myself from Samsung's website. I searched for drivers for the Galaxy Tab, it returned a result for a generic driver :)

Thanks fir the posts seatech and Koumajutsu. I sent 3 damn days trying to root my prevail I was ready to pull out hair I don't even have. I downloaded the file sea tech referenced in Koumajutsus post and it worked the first time.

Big props to you guys interdepth and shabby.

for some reason the one click doesn't work right on win xp sp3! but when I used it on win7 it did say complete but the phone wasn't even rooted yet so after so many tries I tried the loader.9 and it worked on win xp sp3 for the first try! try that it might work! :/

This link is broken. The other versions in this thread aren't working for me.

Running Windows 7, No SD card in Phone, Debugging Activated, Drivers installed, Starting the 1 click at Samsung logo on phone reboot, doesn't work for me (7+ tries).

Can someone point me at a KMS version that has been recently successful?
