I don't have this phone so I'm not sure, but did you read the OP?

"*The cherry w100 version isn't 100% done and working, but it does work well enough to get the su binary installed. You have to reboot your phone each time you try the exploit."

Make sure you're using the poot APK that was made specifically for the w100.

No idea. Download a root checker app and see what it says. You have Superuser installed, right?

Yes, root checker confirms I'm rooted. And it took a reset of the device and think all is good. Thank you very much for the guidance.

Surprised a bit about not being able to move apps to sd when rooted. All of my other rooted phones had allowed before!

Take care,
R.

That doesn't have anything at all to do with this app. That is caused by your service, your choice of browser, your service coverage, or something like that. There is absolutely nothing we can do to make your phone have more reliable downloads.

I have installed both applications and they both run fine, but when rooting I get error code 64. What does this mean?? I have also recieved error code 22, mostly just 22 now. @ANYONE

It runs fine but I get error code 64 at the end. I verified I have root though. Is everything good at this point??

Thank you, giantpune, for making complex phone voodoo easy for noobs like me!

Rooted my wife's brand new Elite with Poot yesterday. The only snag I hit was updating superuser, but I'm fairly certain it was due to a shoddy 3G signal. Updated on the third try, and the root has been rock solid ever since. Have installed CWM and Harmonia 2.03 ... more or less. I'm pretty sure I goofed something or missed something in wiping the phone for the new rom, so I'm off to read and research some more!

Thanks again!! :-D

Hi guy's about a month ago I used the Poot to root my device, Everything worked fine but today my phone is not rooted, I lost my 3G & called VM and every since the call its not rooted....I tried to use the poot again and what I get when I check for root is
"Path is:
"/sbin:/vendor/bin:/system/bin:/system/xbin

found "/system/xbin/su"
reloc_library[1311]:: 3127 cannot locate'android_reboot'...
CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE

error running "ls" "-l /system/xbin/su"

Can this be fixed...Thanks in advance

that is a linker error. somehow you have the su binary on your phone but the shared libs it requires are missing the funtion "android_reboot". Since all the shared libs and the su binary are stored on /system, and that partition is mounted read-only, this shouldn't happen. Even if they wanted to, LG and VM cannot somehow remount your /system as read-write and then corrupt your shared libraries or su binary.

This could have happened if you tried to edit or replace the su binary or any of the libraries it depends on.

Thanks they're gonna send me a new phone, Then i'll try the poot again & i'll keep my results updated!!!

Thanks this newbie to android managed to root this phone,
if your new , be sure to read instructions on install , if it fails to root first run,
start poot again and you may crack that root.
at every step it failed once and then the second start of poot seemed to learn and
crack that step.
after that everything works and that paid app sd maid could remove some of those bloated
virgin auto loads, anyone know how to get rid of that stupid virgin moobile startup screen arghhhh!
Thanks still works on opti elite with ginger bread updated os

psps I had to run this poot-apk in a a file manager I used a paid copy of astro file manager to open the poot-apk on the sd this worked like a a charm that way you can track the location of the files and they seem to run inside the program manager by-passing the root rules of the phone? Any ideas on this??

on another note, is there a app that can be added to the program that you can mod your
eye candy without exceeding the phones hardware limits??
now that its rooted . i tend to like liniux versus winwoes for distro's.
