Orange 2.2 update

been replying in the other thread too, but yes; i'm on a branded handset bought direct from Orange and simply connected to wifi, searched for upgrade, downloaded and installed.

current software info;

Android Version: 2.2
Software #: 2.17.61.2
 
Nothing here (Manchester) either.

Gutted, but not surprised, to hear it is full of Orange crap though despite conorfromorange saying it would have less than 2.1. Another Orange lie for the collection.
 
I'm gonna debrand when it arrives. All I wanted the update for was to see what radio version they were using, because some of the other releases had a few problems with Orange with the stock Froyo radio. Is the updates new radio version the same as stock Froyo?

Hardly surprised it's still full of bloat though, Conor is the PR manager after all, he's hardly going to be honest is he?
 
It should be a staggered release. For those who don't know how to check:

Menu > Settings > About Phone > System software updates > Check Now
 
If anyone is in disbelief look at connorfromorange on twitter he has said that froyo has been released for the desire.

nothing yet for me(Glasgow), how bad is the bloat? i was actually about to root and debrand my phone tonight and saw this and decided to wait and see the new bloat.
 
Mine is currently downloading :D

Only worry is that it takes 85MB and there's only 110 on the phone, this better not slow things...
 
Still no update (Leeds).
Tried changing date on phone to November, tried rebooting, tried WiFi and 3G..... nothing.

Does anyone know how 2.2 is being rolled out and how long it will take before everyone is given the update?

Just got it... the bloat?
Not much changed actually, few icons, flashlight and stuff added. Apps to SD obviously the main benefit but i've only freed 7MB. Hopefully new apps will have the option to save to sd. Many of the ones i have don't have it :rolleyes:

Have they disabled the wireless hotspot functionality?

i mean did they include all the shit demos and stuff like they did in 2.1?
