Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!!!

Since when does a man like that deserve cultural respect??
We are not total barbarians. Even though we put one in your head and one in your chest (unarmed might I add.). We will still give you a proper burial.

Just a few questions....Which of you, has this event had a direct effect on your life besides in your mind? Which of you will now live your lives differently because of this, besides in your mind? And lastly....Which of you currently seek to Actively better the world? (meaning instead of dwelling on an event in the past to satisfy a previous discontentment that you had. How about focusing on now and realizing that all of us have just as much pull as any government officials to better the world) The only reason this isn't happening....is because you're all to busy depending on your own sense of satisfaction. How about living for someone else for a change, how about everyone else. What are you? a Human? or one of the many sub-classifications we've managed to separate ourselves into? You can say and feel what you want about this post.....I care not what any of you think of me......Because I know, like it or not, we're all brothers and sisters and Not a single one of us has the right or authority to judge anyone. If you think you do, well then your authority comes from none other than yourself and Im sorry for those who believe it enough to submit to it......
I do not hate, I love you all, even though I don't know you, But how can we go on without ignorance being addressed at some time.

What amazes me is that most are missing the point... and that is the cycle of violence.
Osama is dead, people celebrate it like a holiday including so-called 'Christians'.
So rock on and keep on hating and killing, humans!

But nobody asks the question of these people.... why do they hate so much that they kill others?

yeah I saw the fake one and the image it was photoshoped from. it was CLEARLY photoshoped especially when you sit the two images side by side.

I do hope the WH releases the real images though
CNN is saying pictures might be released today.

First, I am not one to go dancing in the streets either, but there is a stark difference between the jubilation expressed nationally on Sunday night and the dancing in the streets that occurred almost 10 years ago!

Do two wrongs make a right? No, but 10 years ago that dancing in the streets you mention was to celebrate the slaughter of thousands of innocent women, men and even some children! Thousands of innocent people whose only crime was being of a different religion or faith or belief system! The celebration we saw Sunday night was because of the demise of one man, the man who caused the deaths of those same 3000 innocent people...by his own words, an enemy combatant!

We can agree to disagree, but I fail to see the similarities other than that there were two celebrations.
But in their minds they wasnt innocent. Its like our wars in the past who gives us the right to wage war against another country? I bet the invaded country was like why are you here killing our people. Its all how you view it and just because some one or group sees it differently than you. It doesn't mean they are wrong just because you think they are. The United States almost sounds like a saying I heard my parents speak when I was a kid. Do as I say. Not as I do.

No....sorry I tried to make it clear that I view all of you equally....I guess I didn't do well enough....I do agree about the whole point of view thing you guys are discussing however. Its very true...In the minds of a lot of other countries the US is viewed just as we view other countries. Only when you step out of the mindset of where you've been conditioned since birth, can you truly see from the eyes of another. If you take a Caucasian Christian baby upon being born and switch his location with that of an Islamic baby, they'll grow up believing what their surroundings teaches them, be it true or false

Agreed...

He gave none..
So he deserves none
We didnt do it for him or his family. We did it to not totally piss off the people of the Muslim faith. If we didnt follow their customs then even our allies of Muslim countries would have less respect for us as we showed our lack of respect for their religion.

true... in most cases...

but he was a criminal... and mass murderer.... he is not human .. he is not muslim... he just a dog that needs to be put down.... he got no rights!

well thats my opinion... no body has to like it .. but me.

This is awesome! But terrorism is far from over. Gotta keep the eye on the ball. Keep killing people.

I knew from the start it was going to be a conspiracy breeding ground. It's a shame nothing can be put to bed anymore. Even with video/photo evidence it will be called fake.
Now THATS a great quote!! LOL
I'm having a drink right now called the Bin Laden:

Two shots and a splash of water.
LMFAO!!!!!!!!
LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Reminds me of the spontaneous celebrations that erupted throughout the galaxy when Darth Sidius (Emperor Palpatine) was killed by Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker). :)

Good Point!!
fify, lol

I couldnt stop laughin.....

HILARIOUS!!!!!

I'm saying that there was a huge difference in the way both bodies were treated. I have no idea what it means.

Saddam was tried, convicted and executed by an Iraqi court, and photographs of his body were released as is customary in such cases. It wasn't "paraded around" in public iirc. Had Bin Laden taken up the offer of surrender afforded to him he may well have suffered a similar fate under US law, but he chose otherwise. Ironically for him, in doing so and probably hoping to die a martyr, he gave those he hated the ideal opportunity to deny him his wish. He suffered an inglorious death cowering in a bedroom rather than with a gun in his hand and any respect shown was to his culture, in line with President Obama's insistance that the war is against terror not Islam. The man himself was treated in death with the contempt he deserved in life; being dumped overboard like garbage was poetic justice.

I completely agree - totally different celebrations - its just for a lot of people it reinforces the much loathed by them America-**** Yeah stereotype

Osama was a bad man - his ideals would not bring good to anyone, I just don't think its right to be so celebratory

However I barely remember 9/11, and Ireland is not an international terrorist target, so what do I know

Then stay out of American politics and deal with the IRA and it's factions. I remember 9/11/01 like it was yesterday. I can give you minute by minute details of where I was.

sorry, i was only expressing a view- i dont think people should be celebrating someone being killed that much

If you want me to stay out of the discussion you can PM me

It was his idea. He gave the orders. Without Bin Laden the events of September 11th 2001 probably wouldn't have happened. It's a natural outpouring of relief and a sense of justice finally being done.

However I barely remember 9/11

Then you're probably not best-equipped to comment. I can close my eyes today and recall that afternoon (here in the UK) perfectly. For a few hours the world stood still and grown men walked around with tears in our eyes. Within days the world knew who was responsible but until Sunday May 1st he hadn't answered for his crime.
