Root OTA update coming back weeks later after already installing?

Yeah, the SHA1 digest of the first 7032832 bytes of the boot.img file (the apply_patch_check function typically sets a byte limit on how much to calculate against) you posted is 357cefdf07b6676cccf9e5bde298a1340131bd6e and 6ff75fe4f320a320b37d473b6a476a617a207be8 for the first 7028736 bytes, neither of which seems to match what the OTA .zip's updater-script file is checking for:

Failed expression at line #596:

@koolsk8ter111, would it be possible for you to extract the updater-script file from the ota_update.zip file? (it would be in the META-INF\com\google\android subdirectory in that .zip file).

Even easier... I found a stock unmodified v10F nandroid backup.
Your still rooted right? So all you would have to do is reinstall CWM recovery with the L9 Recovery Installer and flash the v10F nandroid backup and your updated to the newest firmware.

Every time I try to install some kind of recovery, or at least try to back up my current rom through rom manager, my phone reboots and goes to this: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8298/7885263992_1b0cd197d3_n.jpg just like when I try to update it via OTA. "Backing up the current rom" in the rom manager app reboots the phone automatically and that screen pops on.

I'm not sure how the whole recovery and rom thing work.

Don't use ROM Manager at all... It's just gonna cause you nothing but problems.

OK I'll try and walk you through it.

Make sure you have SuperSU installed.
Download the v10F nandroid backup to your sdcard.
Download the L9 Recovery Installer from here - [LOCKED BL/Jellybean support] LG Optimus L9 Recovery Installer | v1.5.0.0 27.04.13 - xda-developers

Download BusyBox by stericson from the PlayStore.

First
Install the BusyBox APK, then open it up and click on the version of BusyBox to be installed drop down window and choose v1.21.0 to be installed to /system/xbin/ and install BusyBox.
Now go to the L9 recovery installer APK and install it.
Open the recovery installer and click on install recovery and the choose "ICS/jb stable" grant it SuperSU permissions and once it's finished installing the recovery, select reboot now.
When the phone reboots the front keys will start flashing rapidly. While the lights are flashing, press and hold down the volume (-) down button until it reboots to CWM recovery.
I'd recommend at this point to make a nandroid backup of your current setup just incase you need it.
Just choose backup and restore and then choose backup to sdcard.
Once the backup is done.. Wipe cache, go advanced and wipe davik cache and then wipe data/factory data reset.
Then choose install from sdcard.
Navigate to sdcard/download and choose the v10F nandroid backup and click on install.
When it's done installing select reboot and you'll have a fresh new phone on v10F.

Also the v10F nandroid is uploaded to Mega. It can be a pain to try and download stuff from there. What I've found is when you go to the Mega site, it will ask if you have the mobile app, just hit cancel and then press the menu button (right hard key) and select "Request desktop Site" then the Mega site will load properly and give you the download link.

Do I download the v10f backup straight to the internal-storage/sdcard0 of my phone or to a specific folder? I also have busybox v1.22.1 installed, will that work? If I wanted to install another verison of busybox, I'd need the pro version it says on the app itself. I don't unzip the v10f, right?

Yep just download it strait to your sdcard, it will be in your download folder.
You should be able to use BusyBox by stericson to remove/delete the v1.22.1 and the choose to install v1.21.0.
You shouldn't have to extract or do anything with the v10F.zip
I'll download it too just to make sure.

Edit:
Ok I downloaded the v10F nandroid and it looks good. I would either download it to your PC and extract it and then move the stockv10f folder to your sdcard or if you download it to to your phone you can use root browser, long press on the v10f.zip and choose to extract it. It will then create and extract the zip in a folder named extracted on the sdcard.

I installed "busybox free" app from the playstore, and it only allows me to install the 1.22.1

I installed busybox X instead, because one person on that article was talking about how the recovery worked after installing "Busybox X". I don't know the version though, but I could give it a shot.

I successfully got into the recovery, but I ran into a little problem. The v10f software doesn't work. I didn't back up my current rom since I couldn't fit anymore space onto my limited phone storage, so now my phone is messed up because I wiped it all out, the CWM recovery is the only thing on it now since there's no software/rom at all. Either way, the v10f wouldn't install on my phone, it had to be an actual zip file and when I try to install it, the installation aborts automatically, because I guess it detects it as an update rather than actual software.

My phone is basically useless now because it doesn't even boot into any kind of software. I can use the microsd, but that's what I used to try to get the zip file on when the extracted/unzipped one didn't work. I used the sd since the phone has no software to actually show up on the PC. It had to be an actual zip file since the unzipped/extracted ones don't read on the CWM.

Well if I'm correct in what the zip contains it is a backup not a flashable zip so you should of selected restore from backup. The only problem is that it was renamed stock-v10f. It should be under a folder that says backup> then a specific date and if I remember correctly it should also have a blobs folder in it as well. I don't have an L9 anymore so I'm not exactly sure as to how the folder structure is on there anymore.

If you have a way to download to your sd like through an old phone via wifi or downloading to your pc then placing on your sdcard through an old phone connected to the pc download this and select install from sd. It should at the least get your phone working.

So, I don't extract the zip right? Just put the zip on the SD card and try to install via cwm?

Now if it does indeed work, where do I go from there? How do I get to the official LG software/rom instead of dealing with a custom rom?

Yes install zip do not extract the contents. Well it is technically a stock rom just themed and debloated v10e. At that point I would try the return to stock method from here, just download a kdz first you can always ota update once you're back to stock and unrooted. Some people have had trouble getting it working lately, it always works for me but I have to use the back usb port on my laptop.

http://androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/792689-guide-unbrick-manual-update-updated.html

Every time I try the unbrick/stock method, I always end up with something like this

14:32:22 : Launching SW update
14:32:22 : Unpacking KDZ
14:32:57 : KDZ file extraced
14:33:08 : Files were extracted.
14:33:08 : LGMobileDL Load.
14:33:08 : Port = -1
14:33:08 : Connecting to phone
14:33:08 : PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!
14:33:10 : ===FINISHED===

Even though I followed almost all of the instructions to resolve it.

but in this article [guide][ALL L9]downgrade from jb + unbrick security error(with out fastboot)U... - xda-developers it shows something about setting the port, which I think may have something to do with the issue I'm dealing with. I wonder if that instruction on setting the port is the actual thing I have to do. I should download that software and see.

Well phone won't be recognized if you wiped everything. Did you try to install the zip yet via cwm? You need to basically put a system back on your phone before you can kdz flash.

I got the rom to work, what I was basically saying is, whenever I try to flash stock roms on my L9 using the unbrick method all the other times I attempted to do it, it gives me that "phone not found" error on the KDZ/LGflashtool software.
