Root OTA update coming back weeks later after already installing?

I was thinking about the F6 as well. However, we're thinking from switching over to AT&T, and I might get the moto x over the family plan. I can't handle this phone anymore.

Why AT&T? Tmobile/MetroPCS has the fastest LTE network right now :p and AT&T is expensive lol.

Coverage, that's why AT&T. I might just get my phone repaired or replaced since I have insurance on it. It has a home button issue anyways, it could be the V10e software making the button like this but idk. The l9 is nothing but a pain in the rear.

By far this has been my least favorite phone I've ever owned. I've been nothing but disappointed with it.
I think the F6 will probably be somewhat better and as sammyz said "at least it has Loki" I'm so glad that they got rid of the omap4 bootloader too, but your still gonna be stuck with the limited internal memory of only 1.2gb. I would opt for the MotoX or something similar. I just heard that you can order a MotoX from Motorola for $100, it's a special deal that they were running. Not sure if they are still running that special but you might want to look into it.

Well please don't get it replaced with insurance... Gotta roll with your mistakes or fix it. This is part of the reason Metro and T-Mobile are blocking access to stock recovery on new models so we can't root. Too many people have bricked their phones and filed a claim or traded them out under warranty leaving the carrier to deal with. As well as free tethering by flashing custom roms. Not to be too harsh but after all it is your mistake.

I don't have a choice, but replace it or buy a new phone. This phone will probably fail internally do to all the powering on/off to just attempt to get into the download mode. I've powered on/off and took the battery out on this phone probably hundreds of times and I will risk killing it from doing that consistently. Even if I got it to go into download mode, it still fails to be recognized by the computer to flash it and I've tried many things to try to get it to work, including installing/reinstalling drivers, disabling LG modem, etc.....

I highly doubt that by everything you've done and tried... Powering it on/off, booting to download mode and etc... Will fry the eMMC on it.
If you can get into download/S/W mode and the phone isn't being recognized by your PC then there is a minor step that's being missed.
I would wait for @sammyz to get back with you. I was talking to him earlier and he said that that there is a B2B software (not the B2C client) and LGFlasherTool that he's been using and should be able to help you get a stock kdz to flash using these tools/method.

It flashes a BIN file. But he still needs to be in SW mode for it to work, the other way is offline KDZ while his phone is connected in LG software mode. I was going to just see if he'll let me teamview his computer and I'll set up the offline method because it takes forever to set up and it's tons of reading and a pain for anyone that doesn't know what he's doing.

That would be a really good idea! I think the offline fix will probably do it.
It is a lengthy procces, Heck I still haven't removed the edited http host files from my PC yet either Lol... I like to think that one of these days I'll give the bootloader unlock a go again.

My edited host file is still edited, but it has a # in front of both lines to cancel it out :p

Also I still call # a number sign, not a hashtag.

LOL, I call it a "pound" sign ;) :p.

Funny side story: when I first learned to program in BASIC (in 1975, yeah, that long ago  (I was only 14)), the semi-colon could be substituted for the PRINT verb (I suppose to ease the pain of typing on a teletype machine (with attached paper tape read/puncher).

Anyway, when I type ";" I sometimes catch myself mouthing the words and saying "print" inside my head :p.

It's funny what computers will do to you :).

Cheers and thanks for everyone's contributions here--you all rock! :thrasher:

I don't think my generation knows what a pound sign is....no one calls anything anymore :o everything is either e-mail, text, or over the internet.
"Enter your credit card number followed by the pound sign." I remember hearing that when I was like 5 or 6, my dad always used the speaker on the house phone.

Back on topic, where are you koolsk8ter111?

I'm actually done trying to fix my phone, also my phone has been confiscated because I threw it in the garbage lol. I was tired of dealing with it.

:musicus:

^Basically describes how I feel now :p

I understand though, I want to throw mine away too.

Yeah I totally understand that too... I threw my away but to my wife Lol.. Even she's getting sick of it and and I can't hardly blame her!
Last I checked Meteopcs was offering the LG L9 for only $29 ... I'd still at least look into the MotoX if they're still ofering it for $100 or maybe even the N5 is a great alternative... You can find them used for a decent price or brand new for $300 to $350.

Exit:
I don't know why LG doesn't make a phone more the LG motion, 5gn internal memory but with a larger screen. That was actually a really decent phone despite the small screen size... To bad. I almost completely gave up on LG and said that I would never buy another one again... The only two worth it really are the LG G2 and the N5 which was co-created by LG.

There was a phone exactly the same as the motion but with a bigger screen, the LG Spirit. Only problem is that the Spirit is CDMA and metro is switching to GSM.

Right... the LG Spirit was s decent phone too! I was really referring to the more recent and gsm phones

Guys I ordered an F6 today on metropcs's website. I hope it gives me less trouble than the L9. It seems almost like a hybrid between an L9 and an F3.

The thing I am not going to like about the F6 is that it doesn't use the same 1.5ghz processor as the my LG motion had. That phone claimed to only have 1.2ghz, but was actually over 1.5ghz and can handle like any game I threw at it which was insane for it's price. The clock on the F6 is under 1.2ghz, like 1188Mhz. At least the F6 uses a Snapdragon S4 though, the gpu is close to the lg motion's I assume. I believe the motion had an Adreno 320, while the F6 from what I've read has an Adreno 305. I really hope the performance both simple tasking and gaming wise is close to the motion.

The F6 has custom kernels that I think have overclock. I'm pretty sure Gametheory made it.

I received the F6 I ordered.

My downsides and upsides with the phone. Touchscreen glass feels cheaper and thinner (doesn't have that solid cold feel), battery cover is glossy and son't have that textured matte, besides the fact that it has a matrix design on the bottom half, build quality feels cheaper than the L9, and camera pictures don't look as good, plus the focusing is slow in video mode. The pros are, it uses a slightly faster and more realiable processor/gpu, and the audio and video quality is superior when shooting 1080p, also the home button lights up different colors depending on the purpose and settings you choose.

It's a good thing it was only $100 though
