Accessories Otterbox Case

Mine should be here today. I will try and take some pics and post them later tonight if possible. No guarantees though :)

Mine should be here today, also. Good god, we're such a bunch of nerds aren't we?! "Oh boy! The new phone books are here!" :D

Yeah this scares me a little..... U know like the day when your new ASUS mother board gets home and you just look at the box for a few mins before opening it..
Once upon a time it was a new Carter AFB for my Roadrunner... now this...
What have we become...

Got my Otterbox in the mail last night. Install was quick and easy, even with the screen protector they included. Very nice protection, good grip, not too bulky. A+++ as always with Otterbox products.

Well, received mine today and have a bit of time to use it. So, first impressions:

Does add a bit more bulk to the phone, not too much but noticeable to me. Protection vs sleekness - always a trade off but this seems to be the best of both worlds. I don't know for sure yet on this one - but it definitely has a more solid feel to it now that I think I like.

It's kinda slick with the final plastic layer on. Those who prefer more 'grip' may not like this. You could use it without this final layer so it's just the rubber - I was curious about this myself -but the sides are little 'floppy' - not a real tight fit around the sides of the phone with rubber layer only. On the other hand, those who like their phone to slide easily in and out of pockets will be pleased with the 'slickness' this final layer adds.

The exposed rubber parts are a real lint magnet. Don't like this. I wonder if there's any kind of spray on the market to repel lint on rubber.

I love the rubberized volume controls! I just couldn't come to grips with the design of the non-descript ones on the phone - they weren't definite feeling. With the OB on, they are solid, definite and not 'loosey-goosey'. When you hit the Vol + or - buttons, you know it's the right button.

The bottom lip. Mmmm. I thought at first the lip was too high and wondered why it was designed this way. Well, the good folks at OB seem to really know what they are doing. This lip has proved to be a godsend. It's especially useful for those of us who like one-handed operation. I hated maneuvering my thumb to hit the red 'end call' button. With the raised bottom lip it gives your thumb a place to grip and rest solidly while maneuvering to other buttons/trackball and without the the feeling that the phone is going to go flying out of your hands. Very nice feature!

Feel of vibration mode seems to be reduced as I suspected. Rubber will do this. That's why it's used to dampen floors and walls in recording studios. Feels more like a 'buzz' now, instead of a vibration. Time will tell on this.

Don't seem to have the problem with the usb port and headphone jack plugs that n2imagination has with his Eris version. Yes, the usb plug at first was a little odd to get to stay put, but once you figure out the correct angle to insert it, it stays put just fine. No problem prying the headphone jack plug open either - YMMV.

Well that's my 'I'm definitely a real nerd' review. Overall, very pleased!

excellent review.

all we need now is some hawt otter on hero action to seal the deal. (pictures)

Just thought of something. Wonder what result I would get if I wiped down the rubber with one of those ant-static laundry dryer sheets? Really, I do have a life - honest!

Here are some pictures. The overall feel is nice, and it fit perfectly over my Zagg Inivisbile Shield. So far so good. More of a review to come later.

awesome. looks like ill be placing an order.

one question though, does the part of the protector on top of the screen and under the ear piece block or make it difficult to open the notification "window"?

In my case (no pun), there is some interference dragging down the notification bar but it's slight and repositioning your thumb a little bit helps a great deal. Really not an issue IMO. And as ccappaso said, no prob using the keyboard/texting either.

Also, and it might just be my imagination, seems like the earpiece volume is more focused and not so omni-directional. Seems easier to find that sweet spot of volume/ear placement.

Warning for those of you in warmer climate areas (I'm in AZ)...

My phone stopped charging and the indicator light was flashing red at me while charging in the car today... The phone was pretty warm, so I unplugged and put it infront of the vent to cool it down. The flashing stopped and the phone cooled pretty quickly... I just think that this case may cause some heating issues in some environments, and everyone should know.

just got it
love the case
i think it ads a little bulk but it is worth
also i carry in my pocket and for people that where worried about that it goes in and out of the pocket really easy

I ordered mine Fri @ 10:45 am and as of this morning I still had no shipping info. I called and they told me it was on backorder. sucks

I've been using the silicone case from the 2 pack black/blue from the Sprint store. The OB is actually smaller than that was. (I carry it in a Moment horizontal belt case from e-bay). Lots slicker, gotta learn to hang on to it. Like everyone has said, quality and fit are first rate. I don't think this case will trap heat any more than any other case. Having lived in Phoenix, I don't think you should take your phone outside in the summer.

My only complaint, the flap over the USB port prevents using the Seidio charging stand. Oh well, back to the cord. ha.

i got my case last night and was expecting to have my hero in hand before that also but due to a snafu in shipping it won't be here till tomorrow. plenty of time to organize myself for rooting and rom installs, OB case and extended battery.

Hey Folks got my commuter OB yesterday fit and finish super.. good look and feel... the screen protector was also super... Great in the pants pocket... slides in and out smooth :) OH and two days... to get to me.
Precious looks good in her new outfit mahaaahaaaa

Oh yeah, it should be mentioned that "standard" shipping is USPS Priority Mail, so don't throw away that extra money on Fedex 2 or 3 day shipping.
