Yep, ran those commands, no error messages. Can get into the recovery screen and everything.

Followed this guide exactly:
LG Optimus M Root 2.2.1 rootd0wn

But I think the problem that I'm having was caused earlier trying to root one of the first times, and I just don't know how to fix it.

If I could just set the values again using something like CDMA workshop, would the phone work? Should I try going to an authorized metro dealer and seeing if they can flash it? I really don't know what will fix this problem for sure as I cannot find enough information on it. I just want my phone to work again :( whatever it takes

Did you write down the info? If not, go here first and enter your MEID under "MetroPCS on any Android phone":
Android - whiterabbit.org

Then try the directions posted here:

THANK YOU! Okay, got this fixed. The post by mrxkills in the other thread explains how to reset the esn and meid. After resetting them everything works perfectly. Many thanks to mrxkills, Darnell0216, and of course joneidy.

Got my phone back :D

Glad that worked out for you. His find is truly a wallet and time saver.

Check this, with the Gingerlike rom by Joneidy along with the getitnowmarketing kernels avalible here I was able to overclock my LG Optimus M 2.2.1 and I am now stable at 806Mhz. For the most part anyway. Seems like the custom roms are the only way to flash the 2.2 oc kernel and stagefright without failure. Later I might try to pull it off again with that shiny new HTC rom I saw on here earlier.

Arg. New problem. I have working phone calls, texts and all that. My internet is not working though. Cannot connect to the server unless I'm directly connected to my wifi. I know with the ##626* I can change the proxy settings, I'm just not quite sure as to what I need to set them back to.

Anyone want to throw more suggestions at me? Thanks guys!:)

I made it all the way to the part where you have to connect to lgnpst to update. The program refuses to recognize my phone. it stays blank. I have all drivers installed and updated. Is there something I'm missing??

I've attmpted this a couple of times. I always get an error when trying to install LGNPST_components_. _. So I just give up lol.

If you've done everything but you're working on Vista/Win7, toggle the XP Compatibility mode option in the exe's properties. This has prevented some from getting it working with everything in working order.

dos any body has the MS690ZV4 root.zip direct or rapidshare for some reason can not download from medifile thank you in advance.

I highly recommend you guys use Windows XP to do this.. I had problems with Windows7 registering the dll and then couldn't get the LG program to work right. Worked Perfectly on Win XP

Just had a few questions if someone could pm me. I dont come into this forum much as I am an Ascend user. I rooted my sisters Lg with Z4root and removed all bloatware, I have not noticed any problems on her phone? Am I missing something? I read how everyone is having problems with Z4root. Any info would be appreciated!!!:D

Your sister has the Android v2.2 release of the phone, which works fine with z4. The newer software version, manufactured after 12/2010, comes with v2.2.1 that has been patched so z4 no longer works.

To get service back and root you need to download adb. Go to Android SDK | Android Developers and download the file that ends on .zip. Extract it to your C:\ drive. Go to C:\android-sdk-windows and open sdkmanager.exe. After is open a windows will pop out click reject on all files except for:
Android SDK Tools and Android SDK Platform tools. Make sure USB debugging is activated (On your phone go to settings> applications>development and check USB debugging) Then open up Cmd and type the following: cd C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools.
After that type: adb push C:\su /data/local/tmp/ (to copy the su file)
then type: adb push C:\busybox /data/local/tmp/ (to copy the busybox file)
Then type: adb install C:\Superuser.apk (to install the superuser app)

Is the CMD file called ms690_cmdinfo? If it is, I don't understant how this is suppose to be read by the phone if this command list is on my comp. Please help me. My phone is out of service until i get this fixed.

CMD is the Command Prompt that is part of Windows. It's usually in the Start Menu under Accessories.

Anyone else have trouble getting the LG USB driver for phone to install? All other software works except the one to connect phone to computer. My installer flashes up for a second but never finishes. From task manager I can see that it is running but never completes. Ran the .msi as administrator, no firewall or antivirus. Tried on 3 computers with no success. Everything else works but can not push data to phone. Very frustrated!
Thanks!!!!!

Can someone please help me! Ive done everything step by step. I even deleted all of the programs and downloaded them again. im having trouble at the cmd inputs. Ive back tracked my steps several times and dont see what im doing wrong... i miss my phone!:D:o:eek::cool::):(;):mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Run LGNTPS from your desktop shortcut. Make sure the program is set to Provision option and under Provision should be Upgrade. Where it says bin File click on the folder and look for MS690ZV4.bin that should be on your C:\ drive and select it. Check the box where says SCR file and select the MS690ZV3_36.scr on C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Model. Check the PRL File box and select the 3017nam1.prl on you C:\ drive.

Done and done...still lists my model number as "unknown". been trying this for hours. deleted, reinstalled, retried over and over to avoid asking this...but why on earth won't this recognize my model number? i'm running everything in compatibility, registered the .dll with reggie, startup, everything i can read and follow. what am i missing?!
