Root Overclocking, How far have you gone?

I have mine up to 1.25 and stable. 1.20 lower the test scores in Quadrant and 1.25 brought them close to 1600.

1.20 - my phone instantly locks up
1.175 - I can usually get maybe 20-30 mins of use before it locks up
1.16 - runs great until I really push it on games...and slowly it goes to hell
1.15 - runs stable 99% of the time...but every couple days I get a reboot
1.1 - like a rock...

As for quadrant scores...I get high 1500's and will crack into the 1600's @ 1.1ghz...I only ran it once at 1.75 and got a 1790 before the phone locked up...

Since you were talking quadrant scores I'm running @ 1.1 for the past few days...just ran quadrant a few times...was in the 1600's 5 times in a row with a peak of 1632

Steven, are you using Quickclock Advanced to OC your Droid X? I use it and usually keep it on the balanced setting where it is running at 1265.

Just for fun I put it on the high-speed setting at 1406 and ran a quadrant test: 1915! (I know Quadrant scores can vary quite a bit but I've never seen one that high on my DX before - very cool!)

I'm going to change back to the balanced setting because I'm seeing the same VSEL as stock 1Ghz and lower VSEL for the other three clock speeds. I like having the phone last 2+ days before recharging with normal use :D

Edit: RMM, I'm seeing a VSEL of 76 on my phone at the 1406 clock speed.

based on some of the clockspeeds/quadrant scores im seeing actually makes me feel a little better about my phone...while i can't overclock worth a darn, it seems that my phone is performing better on lower clock speeds than some...

My old DX wouldn't go above 1.15. I recently exchanged it due to the pwr button at the top becoming unresponsive. I thought it might had been the ROM but it did the same on stock. My new phone now is stable at 1.35 and runs quadrant constantly in the high 1700's. Although, I don't have it set that high normally. Daily use is set at 1.2 GHz and I might lower that too.

I'm able to run mine at 1450 but it really kills the battery and I don't see much of a performance gain over 1250 so I keep it there. Highest Quadrant was 1984.

the highest i have o/c is 1.475ghz and that was ok. was able to get a few linpack and quadrant runs before it froze. my phone runs 1.4ghz really stable. at 1.475ghz, the highest run i was able to get in linpack was 20.118. i was in the top 10 twice. not there any more...:( i usually run 1.2 though because it totally stable and its at 65vsel, one lower than stock

I got mine up to 4.8 terahertz at 638 vsel.

It only ran stable for a nanosecond (and only had battery life for two nanoseconds), but in that nanosecond, it calculated the physics of the big bang and the last digit of pi.

It's too bad I couldn't write the results down before it crashed :(

I know your statement is false because pi is irrational... lol
