Personal Preference: Which keypad do you use? (Android, Samsung, or Swype?)

Just curious to know which keypad everyone prefers. I used the Samsung keypad for a while and just switched to the Android keypad today to try it out. I think it looks great.

*For anyone that doesn't know what I'm talking about:

Menu > Settings > Locale and Text > Set default keyboard

I'm currently using the ported Droid X keyboard, I like it better than the rest so far. Android is close behind.

Wow, really? When I used it, I thought it was very good, but I wasn't sure if I'd use it primarily. Now I'll have to give it a try for a while...

I'm also using Swype and I love it. Don't think I'll be switching any time soon, unless I need to type in landscape mode, the Swype keyboard isn't really setup very well for typing like that. However, so far I've used the Swype keyboard for basically everything.

The fact that swype indexes the contacts is also a big plus for me. I can just zoom by on texts and emails and it does a fantastic job of tracking and completing the words. So far I havent found a need to type on a regular keyboard

I hesitated a bit on Swype, but giving it a few tries, it's definitely better. The more u use it, the better you're at it.

I was just trying out the Road SMS but I am missing Swype already.

I've been using swype, but my roommate has the X, and I could see myself getting that keyboard. Maybe in a month or so if I get bored I'll jump over to it

Still learning to swype, but getting better at it with each time I use it. I can't imagine trying to type one letter at a time any more. My last phone was a slider, and I thought I was going to miss the physical keyboard when I upgraded, but swype is infinitely better. The index finger is so much more comfortable, and faster, to use for text input than two thumbs. Plus I don't have to remember the exact spelling. Predictive text on Droid X keyboard seems good, but I just can't get used to moving my eyes between the keys and the suggested list.

Another vote for Swype here, it's really great when typing in portrait mode, you don't have to be afraid to make mistakes on the tall and skinny keys (it's pretty forgiving), and you can teach it to recognize new words when you type it in the old-fashioned way.

Swype was one of the big reasons I exchanged the Aria. I've always been terrible with text keyboards. swype is a bazillion times faster for me.

I keep switching between Android and Swype. If I'm setting up my contacts or doing something that has odd spellings, I'll go with Android. If I'm trying to write a grocery list or something I'll use Swype. Also, the Swype keyboard looks too cluttered to me with all of the small symbols etc on the keys. I'd prefer if it looked as simple as the Android keyboard.

I noticed when my wife was using the Samsung keyboard the other day that it does not make any suggestions as you go, which was a disappointment, so I switched her to Android and also showed her the voice-to-text button. As far as I can tell there's no reason to use the Samsung keyboard at all.

Im using the Samsung keyboard, the Android and Swype keyboards keep pissing me off. I spend more time fixing the words it thinks I want to type than I do just typing it out manually.

The Samsung keypad has predictive text....I haven't used it though, due to my horrible predictive text experience on my previous iPhone 3GS...

Took me a few days to feel comfortable Swyping. Now I'm use to it. Yes, I could type a little faster on Android/Samsung keyboard... but I need 2 thumbs to do it. I can swype reasonably fast with 1 hand. This is why I have been using it exclusively. The one thing I wish it had, though... is the voice entry button.
