Personal Preference: Which keypad do you use? (Android, Samsung, or Swype?)

I just switched to Smart Keyboard Pro and for me it feels the best and has the features I need, ie. great autotext, multitouch, arrow keys, decent memory footprint, hold-for-symbols, great auto-correct IMO and I like the iPhone skin for it. My feeling is that everyone works a little different, has different fingers, and I'm just glad we aren't stuck with just one choice.

I swapped between Android and Samsung for a while, tried Vlingo's, tried Swype for about 5 minutes (I'm sure if you have the patience to learn it it would be awesome, but not for me). Downloaded SwiftKey this morning and LOVE IT.

Swype is not only very fast and accurate, but its so much freakin fun to use. People are amazed when they see you use it, and always want to try it for themselves.

Swype here. The only thing i wish it had were arrow keys. But maybe I need to correct my old habits from using the old style keypads.

I really like swipe but can't see using it for day to day activities. More of a fun program then a real work horse. I don't think i am any faster on swipe then the Samsung keyboard.

Ok, I'd personally like to get some metrics, so I can justify switching keyboards.

Please download and install myTextSpeed, and choose Beat the time mode. Please post which keyboard you used, your speed (in WPM and CPM), your accuracy (hopefullly 100%), and which sentence you chose.

Here's me:
Android Stock keyboard
Brown Fox
Accuracy: 100%
311 CPM/66WPM

Droid x keyboard:
brown fox
accuracy 100% (have to hit "capitalize" before you start)
379 CPM/81 WPM

All you have to do is google it and find it on the xda forums, sideload it with android central sideloader (you dont even have to be rooted) and its magically in your list of keyboards. Its got insane auto correct.

I've never been a Swype person. The keyboard I always come back to is Smart Keyboard Pro (in market). I'm really not sure why, but I'm more accurate with it than any other keyboard I've tried (which includes everything else listed here)

Brown Fox Tests:

SwiftKey: 100% Accuracy, 75.7 WPM
Samsung Keyboard: 100% Accuracy, 81.7 WPM
Android Keyboard: 100% Accuracy, 78.7 WPM
Swype: 88.89% Accuracy, 67.2 WPM (No matter even if I get it perfect.)
HTC_IME Mod: 88.89% Accuracy, 61.5 WPM

Wow, did not expect that. Maybe I should switch back to the Samsung Keyboard.

Just tried TouchPal and I hated it. I don't know what it is about that keyboard, but it just didn't sit right with me.

Well, I used to use swype a lot. I like the change up going to a regular keyboard. Id say droid x and swype are my favorites. All my friends are really impressed with swype, but I think Dx looks realllly clean and nice

On that suggestion I downloaded the Droid X keyboard. Holy crap is the auto correct awesome. I could fly on that thing. Faster than Swype. Two finger tapping banging out a sentence with auto correct.
