True, but even it didnt have CM7 until it was almost a year old

True, but there was liberty (one of my favs) and a few others, not to mention miui. Of course, liberty was based on blur, so it was probably easy to get to work with the device, but my point is there's much love for the dx. I still have my wife's old device... I might play with it a bit.

Oh most Def, the DX still gets love n i still have my old one lol.

And yea all pre cm roms were based off blur or deblurred. I ran a few b4 cm7 was available.

Your post has been edited that's why I said its leaked ics, your post said "officially" only at first.

The signs I'm seeing is that they are releasing ICS in order of phone release.

Also the fact they could as well be waiting for the VS-930 to drop before hand. It make's zero sense to dev it and not release it. This is big red we are talking about though....

Yeah I think they will release it towards the end of September and it be official just before the spectrum 2 is unveiled cause people wanna see how the first one looks and runs in ics before they go spend crazy amounts on the new phone with verizon

I was told by a verizon store rep that it would be done by the end of September although I'm not worried about it cause I'm on the galaxy nexus anyways...although does anyone know if I flashed broken out spectrum to my spectrum that I can still take the ota update and no I didn't freeze or remove any bloatware

if u flash BO u will remove bloatware ;)

"please be advised that Verizon stated that there is no plans for update this model yet and unfortunately cannot confirm if there will be at any near future"

quoted from an LG rep at exactly, now.

Except that the Rom is on the download server, and has seen several revisions...

I would love for someone on the inside to come out and tell us that are having the same problems our devs are having, and decided to wait for the android forums elite spectrum dev team to resolve it. Then they just plan on building ICS from the first Rom our devs release...

Lmfao! Good one, seriously good shit.
yea that one is purdy good isnt it lol

We could only wish. ;)

Can you people more familiar with the dev community explain the nuances of your back and forth on the revision bumping of the ROM and the problems the devs are experiencing?

It's sort of like an inside joke, only in the absence of information, you know, people form inaccurate models of what is going on.

I mean, is there more regarding the delay in the OTA for the Spectrum that be concisely described so people like myself can understand it? :ahhhhh:

There's no inside joke.

LG has changed the revision numbers of the unlreleased updates. We don't know what they're changing.

I think our devs are pretty much as clueless as you and I as to what LG is doing or why they're doing it.

LG is the only one who can answer these questions.

Verizon wireless removed a post from the "ICS Update for Spectrum" thread by stef7, in which someone cited press release of Verizon and LG claiming ICS for the Spectrum and encouraging people to file claims with the BBB and FTC. I encourage everyone to file a claim if we do not get the update by the end of September.

That post was removed by a moderator, and then they locked the thread so no more replies could be made.

Screw Verizon. I just switched from AT&T yesterday and I already regret it. I have written an email to LGs Newsroom and an independent firm. would have added Verizon but I couldn't find an email for them.

Its funny, because LG claims that it is Verizon who has rejected the revisions due to incompatibility with Verizon's add-on crap.

Everyone points their fingers so nothing gets done. Classic case of, "It's not my responsibility," mentality that is so prevalent in corporate society these days.

Man! You all sure do take this phone stuff serious, Its just a phone! It works...makes calls...browses the internet....does texting...send emails....accesses the market...And pretty much anything all the other android phones do with a few exceptions. Sure ics will be cool and fun for at least the first hour or two, but then what?

I'm happy with my spectrum and I don't think LG is any worse than any of the other companies. You guys just put way too much thought and care into your phone's. There is much more to life.

And I'm predicting a week after ics is released you'll all be complaining about no jelly bean....

Yea, because they realized the post was an error; pretty standard response on their part to fix an error like that. If you think att or sprint are any better regarding the handling of a mistake like that, you're wrong.

This is an assertion I don't agree with. I think only VZW can release the OTA. LG cannot on it's own, offer up something for download and install via an update tool. It's funny - as someone else pointed out, for the iPhone series, Apple controls the OS releases. For the Windows phones, Microsoft does. For Android, instead of Google or the OEMs, the carrier does. What sense does that make?

I look at this as a VZW issue - with a good measure of blame to be assessed on Google's shoulders.

Would someone kindly point me to the so-called mysterious repository of updates with a file or files changing revision numbers that people are monitoring?

I might as well be asking for the sky, but is there anyone compiling a list of revision numbers vs. date?
