Post your custom rig

Thank you! It took 2 hours from bleeding it to powering up the new system. Before, playing Far Cry 2 my CPU ran at 50 degrees but now it runs at 38 :)
Now I have to think of another upgrade.

Well, as custom as a laptop setup can get...

Start8 and ModernMix installed, you can see the Modern apps (windowed!) in the attached monitor (connected via HDMI).

I think, if I get time, I may try and see if I can neaten up my cable management just because I've seen some pictures where you can't see any cables :-D ... Might try after I get an enclosure for one of the hard drives.. That'll save one cable ^_^

I've purchased hardware from eBay. Never had one issue. Just make sure that whatever you are buying is from a reputable seller and is eligible for returns.

As far as the UK and, I think, Europe goes it doesn't matter whether they say they "accept returns" or not. They are bound by the Distance Selling Regulations and HAVE to accept returns if the item doesnt conform to the regulations.

I've put a lot of time into building mine. Time, money, years, and for the displays, rooting through clearance/display selections. Paid $209 for the Scepter, but that was 3-4 years ago. Paid $125 for the Samsung. I've never actually added it all up to get a price, as I purchased each part separately over the years mostly. If I were to try to put a price on it all... This doesn't account for deprecation.

24" Scepter LCD (1920x1200 8ms): $209 (2008)
23" Samsung LED (1920x1080 2ms): $125 (2013)
Logitech Z30 speakers: $70 (2007)
Corsair 7.1 Headset: $70 (2012)
HAF 922 case: $80 (2010)
Asus Sabertooth x68: $180 (2011)
Intel i7 3.06GHz quad-core: $280 (2011)
12GB XMP-spec RAM: $60 (2012)
1.5TB Western Digital HDD: $70 (2011)
LG Blu-Ray burner: $60 (2010)
Soundblaster XiFi Fatal1ty w/ 64MB RAM: $90 (2011)
2GB eVGA nVidia GT560 Superclocked: $180 (2013)
Wireless N PCIe card with 3 antenna and dual band: $40 (2011)
650W PSU at the bottom back, fan sucking air down and out: $40 (2011)
Thermaltake eChampion keyboard: $40 (2012)
Logitech G500: $40 (2012)
Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch: $100 (2010)
XBox 360 Afterglow controller: $30 (2013)
Epson NX230 printer: $30 (2011)

eeeeeek. I forgot my webcam.
Logitech c250, I think: $40 (2010)

Okay. Total... Is... Never calculated before... Roughly $1800... Man, I've never done the math before. I have a nice setup.

EDIT: Added in years they were obtained.

My jaw fell to the ground again. I would've thought it'd be expensive but a 1k case?
Might put the lottery on tomorrow is all I'll say...

Anyone got any tips for good cable management? Just had a look at a picture of my build and it's beginning to annoy me :-P

Also what do you do able the hd audio cable? Don't think it's slim enough to come from behind the psu....
And don't get me started on the coloured fan and front panel connector cables...

Edit : although a lot better looking that this

Looking at this picture I may consider a new cooler.. Would like to go water but I know it won't be worth it without overclocking :'(

Getting a sealed loop watercooler for your CPU brings other advantages beside temperatures, namely less noise and it takes up less space on your mobo. Having said that your case looks rather small so it might be hard to fit one in.
I might be wrong but it looks as though you only have one HDD in the drive cages? If you could remove the cages and put the HDD in a front bay adapter you could have a radiator such as the Antec Kuhler H20 920 there instead. Little bump :P The linked Antec 620 is nearing it's end on ebay (halff nine tomorrow morning) and I'm wondering if it's worth me getting? (Obviously for a decent price, I'm styil not too keen spending
