Sorry, forgot to mention: I run a i5 3750K (or is it a 3570K) at stock clocks, with a EVGA 670 FTW Sig II. Standard fan setup in my case - 200mm at the front, 120mm at the back.

(I've just thought, would adding a 1200/80mm fan sort of where the other expansion slots on my case are, be any good for added cooling? Thinking it will help remove the hot air from the gfx card. )

Googled 3750k and couldn't find any definitive gen on temps but I would expect Idle to be about 30 degrees since my CPU runs hotter than yours AFAIK. I have just removed the dust filter from the front 200mm fan of my HAF-X to improve airflow.
I used to have a SanAce80 fan cooling my Revodrive but it was full revs of about 2200 and sounded like a jet engine!
If you want to give your GPU some fres air you could get one of these
Zalman ZM-SC100 VGA Slot Cooler at Xoxide!
or this http://www.xoxide.com/zalman-zm-sc100-vgaslotcooler.html
The first is better because it draws cool air in.

Not all Phobya's are bad :smokingsomb:

How has everyone orientated their PSU's? My XFX XXX is at the bottom of my case, with the fan facing down...

Just wondering if there was any reason I shouldn't have the fan facing upwards (it's started ticking again, and the only ways I know to stop it are to push the fan up and down a few times, or to flip it over)

Bottom.. my case has an air filter there that I remove to clean occasionally

Corsair HX-750W

Would having it face-up be bad in any way? Thinking maybe hot air going from the graphics card going into the intake of the PSU...?

They are designed to face away from the interior of the case, so yeah any kind of heat dissipating from the PSU into the case would be hazardous.

Yes that would be. Always want to get the heat away. Except for the bottom of the case usually. Those take in air to move along, then are blown out. Remember Hot Air will always move up.

Less heat in the case is best. Btw after removing the dust filter from the front of my case I have decided I am no longer a fan (no pun intended) of them - if you look at how close the mesh is you can see how they stop the air getting in.
Heres a trial run of my new 200mm radiator for the front of my case. It is awaiting the arrival of another fan.

So I'll have to keep the fan facing down :-P Anyone know of any other method that might help reduce/eliminate the psu click? I'll look into getting a RMA from Scan after my exams...

Funnily enough I was reading a review at Newegg of the PSU I used to have (CM Silent Pro 700) and one guy said that after a few weeks the fan started touching the wire fan grille so he took the grille off and inserted washers under the screws to give more clearance after which the noise stopped.

That's not good

Its not an anecdote - if you look for the cooler master silent pro 700 on newegg and read the reviews it is in there and all the reviews are by people who are confirmed buyers. I would think if the fan touching the grille is the problem in your PSU , inserting washers is much easier than an RMA

Alright thanks! I'll still have to wait til after exams to fix it :'(

I'll have a look at some reviews of the speakers. Not sure if I'd actually use them either..

My new front radiator assembled - just have to get it into the case! :banghead:
