Post your custom rig

I think there's a whole sub-reddit for cable horror too, pretty funny stuff.

And man.... I want a 690 (or Titan).... But my 670 seems to handle skyrim at 60fps 2560x1600. (30" dell) But it struggles with The Secret World. I also don't even want to know how bad it will be at crysis 3 heh.

I definitely prefer the single card solution though. Mostly for less hassle. So I guess the 690 > the Titan unless I go SLI with the Titan? I could maybe convince myself to drop $1000 on a card but not $2000 :o

The question is whether I would be better off just sucking it up and getting a second 670 but they seem to have gone UP in price

This is what I have and I swear it was $399 when I got it...
EVGA 04G-P4-2673-KR GeForce GTX 670 Superclocked+ w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Newegg.com
($440 now)

You could try your luck at winning the titan haha just recieved an email from EVGA with this link

Don't worry you are not alone. I obsess over cables and cant find a nice way to organize 'em either :o

Is there a nice way to organize them? I feel like you only see the super die hards organizing their builds to the point that you really don't see much of anything besides parts. I'm going to take some new pictures this weekend.

I hate them too.. to a point, if i get an official email about it I don't mind as much compared to when I see people just liking and sharing things that are obviously fake pages that have nothing to offer but spam.

I'm debating whether or not to try to win, I have no idea what game i'd submit to show off physx .. gmod maybe? lol

Here is my RIG still need to sort cables out. But will probably buy a new case before I do it.

Borderlands? Batman? These are the only games I have with PhysX actually tbh

Sweet.

Although I will have to admit I hate those Facebook "like-to-enter" contests.

It seems like my smartest (cheapest) way to get near-ish 690 performance would be a second 670. I suppose I can try and convince myself that's saving money! :D

I looked on Ebuyer and the EVGA GTX 670 is quoted at

I do it a little bit at a time, sit back have a bit of a think then do some more. You can get self adhesive plastic brackets which allow you pass plastic zipties though them so thats the back of the case taken care of and you can also replace any white molex or fan connectors with black ones - they are cheap to buy and its really easy to do. One of the biggest boosts to my cable management was getting a fan controller so I could move all the fan connectors from the mobo to the controller - no more wires snaking all over the mobo!

I just did it all in one go. The thinking process occurred when the side panels couldn't fit on, and I had to arrange the cables so that they could.

BTW I think the reason my 670 cost so much was I remembered the price wrong, since I went for the 4GB VRAM model to "future proof"

That is, I remembered the price of a stock 670, but at the last minute I bought a 670 with more RAM and it cost a bit more.

I think I will get a second 670 in the end.

Got this yesterday  :)

lol looks like someone broke a keyboard after rage quitting and that sold it :p lol jk

Looks pretty cool haha, I'm not to into the custom mouse or keyboard thing, just give me one that works and I'm fine haha. The keyboard I use is from my first computer from 2000 lol

No my previous keyboard (Alienware TactX) is waiting to be sold.
I sold the keyboards from my first and second PC's (Packard Bell) for 99p on ebay last year.

How much :-P?

To be fair, I'd be happy with a decent basic keyboard like a Cherry G85 (I think). Enjoying my Sidewinder X4 although the keys aren't as laptop like as I would've thought

I have the x4 and 100% agree -- it is pretty damn nice for a low/mid range gaming board.

I miss my logitech low profile laptop keys (previous kb) but I dont miss the key blocking!

As a matter of interest, have you been affected by ghosting issues? I don't think I've ever had to hit too many keys at one time...

Nope, well, as far as I understand it Ghosting and keyblocking are essentially the same thing. The X4 was designed to allow 24(32?) keys to be pressed at once.

A good quick test is to hold both shift keys and type

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG.
If you have key blocking/ghosting it wont come out correctly. it will look weird like this:

HE QCK ROWN FX JPS VER TE ZY OG.

according to MS website 192 is the max lol

my board maxes out at 64gb but with my cpu heatsink the most I can get is 48 haha, i remember when my computer's max was 756mb! never thought the max i could put in would be close to what it is now haha

Am I right in thinking 256GB is the most Windows 7 can take?
Not exactly:

Memory Limits for Windows Releases (Windows)

Note that most of the RAM limitations placed on newer versions of Windows are arbitrary, and used to force power users to buy more costly Windows products. The NT kernel itself is capable of accessing at least 1 TiB of RAM (up to 4 TiB) on AMD64 machines, and by using PAE memory paging on IA32 machines.

I don't know if there are any hacks to enable cheaper Windows versions to use more RAM (that would violate the EULA ), but in the real world you're more likely to be bound by the limitations of the motherboard. You only have so many slots, each slot can accommodate RAM sticks up to a certain capacity, and there are limits on how much RAM can be fit onto a single stick.
