Post your custom rig

Get one! My first one overheated, second kept crashing and giving me blue screens, but the third one runs perfectly!

Any of you custom builders had a SLI setup / planning for SLI? Just wondering if getting another 670 somewhere down the line would ever be better than getting a new card.

And also, it's my birthday coming up, so do you recommend me getting anything for my computer?

Thoughts so far are speakers, fans?, CPU cooler.. need an enclosure for my backup drive and maybe something like this hard drive tray, or this one without an SSD slot

I was looking for new speakers a year or so ago and found a lot of good reviews about Logitech Z906 5.1 speakers. After a few drinks I searched online and I was dismayed to find the cheapest price was PC World  but then I noticed they were doing a "special deal" for bank holiday Monday with 20% off. I phoned them and they confirmed the deal so I ended up with the speakers for

Latest mod is to remove the hard drive cage - carefully, so I can replace if I ever get rid of the case!

Run all my components at stock settings haha, my fans do the job very well and look cool doing it lol

QFT! The water cooling solutions are really only worthwhile for those that OC their gear. At stock settings, there's no purpose to have a Corsair H100 or Antec H2O 920.

Thats like saying a Skoda will get you from A to B just as well as a Ferrari - true, but not the whole picture :)

But i guess in both scenarios, the more expensive option has little benefit apart from unneeded? coolness...

See what I did there? :-) :D:D:D:);)

Played devils advocate?
If I run the Unigine Valley benchmark both cores of my GTX 690 run at 80 degrees C and if I play Far Cry 3 they hit about 70 degrees. The top is too hot to touch in other words. Thats without overclocking.

What are some good temps to stay under? So far I've noticed idles of 35ish for the CPU and GPU. In game CPU goes over 50(not are by how much) and GPU reaches 60-70 too.

Depends what your CPU is for what its idle temperature is, but mine (3930k) idles around 28 degrees C and hits about 46 with Far Cry 3.
I have read online that watercooling the GTX 690 can reduce the high of 80 degrees down to about 45.
