Prez Candidates

So.. a woman president would be fine, as long as she doesn't try and advance the cause of women?
One like Hilliary..?? No, she's all lies anyways. There are ways to advocate, invoke, & pass women's rights without being labeled a "feminist". Women are our specie's lifeblood and to ignore such rights would be catastrophic to our existence. Hilliary is just "faux herself" and anyone thinking otherwise is greatly missing the bigger picture of facts. This is OUR children's LIVES, WELLBEING, & FUTURE at stake.. Not just ours.

Ok.. how would someone advocate, invoke and pass women's rights... without someone (such as Fox news, or talk radio hosts for example) labelling them as a feminist??????

(on the other hand.. feel free to completely ignore this rhetorical question and answer @notacoach 's ones instead, as his are more appropriate for this thread)

Please give specific, factual, non-opinion, examples of

1. Hillary "degrading our rights"

2. Hillary calling for an actual repeal of the 2nd amendment.

3. Proof of criminal activity.

The irony is that your comments are making me defend a candidate I don't actually terribly like.

Indeed it is. Which is why allowing a demagogue who wants to further his own agenda, while no doubt selling out to the farthest right conservative wing to further theirs, is a very poor legacy to leave our children.

The idea that somehow Trump's campaign promises will actually come to fruition and further the well-being of the people who are looking to him to solve their problems is, frankly, delusional. He has proven time and again that not only is he wildly ignorant on many important policy matters, but he is willing to cheat, break contracts, contradict himself, and eschew and ridicule any group which doesn't benefit him (or those who he can paint as a boogeyman to frighten people into buying his snake oil).

He is indeed an outsider, but not in the good way. Ignorant is not the same as relatable, and shouting is not the same as effective. It takes more than bluster to run a country. Or a business for that matter, as his failed ventures have repeatedly demonstrated.

I watched the opening (which seemed rather Bill heavy - last time I looked, he's not on the ballot) but don't have time for all 15 minutes of that right now ("Anonymous"?!); I will watch it later, if only as due diligence.

In the meantime, please read the link I posted above explaining the complex details of the emails in clear, factual detail, with ample links to the FBI report and other source material.

One of the clearest explanations I've seen, and kne which addresses the errors on both sides. Well worth the time to read and gain some factual understanding instead of relying on headlines and soundbytes.

Agreed, well written, and largely squares with other sources I trust, well cited.

She is a deeply flawed candidate; She makes mistakes, sometimes does a poor job of explaining the situation.....Partly because she seems to have an off putting personality. A significant handicap in a politician, (unless your name is trump).

I like the author's advice regarding how to handle the controversy; But the advice can't be followed in the real world.
First, it is too late, and few would be convinced to change their minds, turn their backs on a ginned up narrative that is tailor made to reinforce their view of Mrs. Clinton.
Second, since it is so late, it would only give the appearance of late inning damage control; Even if all true and a sincere mea culpa, it would give a sense of "let's try the latest draft of plan C" to try and make this thing go away.
And third, the specific language the author proposed opens about nine different ways for the opposition to selectively cull out bits and twist them in new directions; A time honored but hardly laudable political technique.
(Written moments before the ridiculous video posted above, thanks for making my point for me. Way to take things out of context, and add some heavy handed production techniques.) 15 minutes of wasted time.
They did an excellent job of making her look like donald frequently looks, except he does it in real time, and in context.

She is often her own worst enemy, and in the handling this matter, her initial silence may be the largest single mistake made. I view that silence as further evidence that she didn't think for one moment she had done anything wrong. She couldn't imagine this little story would last more than three days, or that it could be helped along in the manner that it was. "There is so little to it, why should we be worried anyone would even try to make political hay out of it?

In hindsight, major political misstep.

Not criminal, and nothing out of reason in the context of such a large machine.

Drumpf's 100 day play speech...

he is so vindictive... to go after the people that wronged him.
spend so much time at the beginning .. pledging to sue his sex accusers.
that is what I want to hear from my new president.. his #1 thing he wants to do first.

don't forget he will create a group to looking into putting Hillary in jail...

I guess this is better than having someone like the leader of North Korea!

question..
why wait to sue his sex accusers? why not do it NOW??
what happened to the lawsuit against the news company for printing the story??
it is all just BS.. he knows he has no leg to stand on..
only trying to put up smoke screen.

Trump Up 2 Points Nationwide, While Clinton Campaigns As If The Race Is Already Won

Ok.. Have just read that post.. and suggest it should be mandatory reading for everyone.. well written, researched and links to the actual documents involved.... and If I was someone who was skeptical about the explanation that is given in there, I'd at least make sure that I had read the FBI documents linked to.....
I agree. Thanks for the post notacoach. It led me to another article that also seems relevant to the general topic here.

Los Angeles Times

"As trump's woes deepen, Republican fears heighten"

Excerpts:
"Republican operatives in congressional races see no easy way to reverse the slide in the time remaining. Nonpartisan analysts agree."

"The best hope is that Republicans can stem their losses with candidates who heeded early warnings not to hitch their prospects to trump's volatile presidential campaign."

"But Republican senators who have agonized most over the nominee - toggling between support for, and distance from trump - are among those now seriously in trouble.

"Overall, it's a miracle we're even in this thing right now" said one Republican strategist, who like other political operatives interviewed for this story was granted anonymity to frankly assess the situation. "How could it get worse? But it always does."

I wonder why the anonymity? It's not like the guy should have any fear of political reprisals for speaking the truth; donald hasn't shown me any indication he would abuse his powers for political retribution.

Glad to see some of the Republicans I do admire escape the sinking ship. Row the lifeboats in the other direction, boys...... Let the rest of 'em drown.

- She's gonna use the Executive Order to Str8 up REPEAL the 2nd amendment.

The ONLY way the 2nd amendment could be repealed (ONLY way) is if 2/3s of the members of both the House AND the Senate vote for repeal AND THEN…THIRTY EIGHT of our fifty states would have to vote in favor of ratifying the repeal.

As stated often before, and clearly evident to anyone with a shred of respect for logic, truth, history, and any sliver of a mortal soul.......
If you voted like I suspect you did.......
You belong there; May you forever rot there, for what you did to my great nation; Expect no mercy, even for your descendendants in the coming generations.

Okay folks, it's all over for me, dropped my early ballot in the box today. You know who I voted for, or should I say, who I voted against. See you in hell...

I sent my absentee ballot in Monday. While I'd like to see you someday, I certainly hope it isn't there. Whatever the outcome, always remember that we are in this together. Peace.

Sometimes you have some pretty good posts/replies, but this certainly isn't one of them. I find it disgusting and even Hillary would not approve. There's a "person" on the other end who deserves to be treated with civility at a minimum. When this is all over you need to remind yourself that we are ONE as a nation.

I just cant wrap my head around .. voting for drumpf

it is like planning to a family vacation in Iraq.
why, would you do that? and take your family with you?

With all due respect, Father G, my patience is (way beyond) exhausted. I'll think about what you've said, and consider it overnight.

My gut reaction: We were, but clearly are no longer one nation; This is an obvious turning point in history, no less serious than 150 years ago. Some people need to be cut loose; Pumped out of the bilge, isolated on the other side of "a wall". I did not cause the schism, and it may well be an irreparable, and disastrous split to a nation I owe everything in my life to.
I genuinely believe that nothing less than full throated condemnation of trump constitutes a black mark upon the soul; A vote for, deserves a demotion to a lesser category of citizen, without opportunity for redemption. It's just that obvious, and seems like exactly the kind of logic a president trump would employ if victorious. I wouldn't be speaking in these terms if it were any reasonable, respectable candidate for POTUS.

This isn't hyperbolic rhetoric, there are very real principles at stake, the future of this nation, and perhaps all mankind going forward.

Your insight notwithstanding, I wouldn't pretend to know what Hillary would think of my words, I wouldn't dream of speaking for her. But (again, just my gut feeling) I suspect my language and sentiment are quite tame in comparison, and she's many times smarter than I. She already made a head fake in that direction; It was right, proper, and restrained, when she used the word deplorable.

I hope you were being ironic, Father G, in condemning my thoughts. I genuinely believe you are a good man, but it is clear that after this election, there is some serious soul searching to be done, some significant number of the electorate who should no longer be granted full shares at the table of civilised political discussion.

My words are, as always, aimed at the deplorable masses who believe in, and follow the ideas represented by a mere one or two individuals who have the courage to stand up, create a thread, and speak their minds in this forum.

While I disagree vehemently with others, it is no one individual I have a dispute with; It is their right to hold that opinion; And my right to point out, using the mild and tepid language of my choice, just how tragically misguided, and dangerous that opinion is.

Some ballots have been cast, but I speak in an effort to point out how dangerous even a single more may be; There may yet be time to save one single soul.
