Definition for prl: The Preferred Roaming List, basically a way of telling your phone which towers to connect to first.
The PRL helps determine which home-network towers to use, and also which towers belonging to other networks to use in roaming situations (areas where the home network has no coverage.) When roaming, the PRL may instruct the phone to use the network with the best roaming rate for the carrier, rather than the one with the strongest signal at the moment.

Since a PRL tells the phone "where" to search for a signal, as carrier networks change over time, an updated PRL may be required for a phone to "see" all of the coverage that it should, both with the home network and for roaming.

Your PRL can be update via your phone by dialing *228 and choosing option #5(preferred roaming list).

Is there a way to downgrade/upgrade prl without using a computer?
 
There needs to be a way to revert to a previous prl without using that, i mean you call *228 to update so it would be great if you could download a prl file and change it with just the handset.
 
i have been trying to do this for two days now

every time i put my scl it tells me that its incorrect

what do you guys choose from the drop menu once u click on your phone and service programming
 
1x often don't really like this prl. If a prl is a list of towers for your phone to connect to why are some better than others?
 
I want to down grade my prl i know how to use qpst but when i get prl 3026 from mediafire it comes in text not bin do i need to convert it or change the name of the file ? Thanks

**Nevermind my phones internet is acting weird.. it downloaded fine from my computer..
 
I just used the unroot/upgrade method today on my brother's Connect and after it was done I called *228 to get the latest prl, after that was done I went into setting to check what number it was, it says 3035...
