The more I see video of the Note II the more envious I'm getting of the... Software.

Hopefully some of it will make it to the Note I... ? :\

OMG...this is almost as painful as watching a beautiful luxury car get smashed in a movie:

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - Drop Test - YouTube

Although, I must say that it did hold up better than I thought. Thing is, it's still not "that" realistic because it's not taking into consideration motion. They should've done it where he's walking and while taking it out of his pocket, it gets caught on clothes and slips out of the hand, propelling it forward. It's rare where the phone is going to be dropped at a stand still. Most drops happen when people are walking and trying to do something on their phone at the same time, which adds more acceleration/force to the impact.

On a side note, and a great thing is, he's my size, and from seeing him hold the phone, that gives me the comfort of knowing I'll be able to work with the size no problem.

What's missing is the frantic air grab as it ricochets off the tip of my third finger in my attempt to save my phone from this tragedy!!! The vid is great, this forum is great!!! I also like how he calls the phone "precious"! :)

Yeah...LOL...that's another one for sure. The one where you "think" you have a firm grasp of your phone, you space out for .2 seconds, and next thing you know you're trying your best to catch the phone while it's bobbling around in your hand before it springs out of your reach!...hahahaha. It doesn't happen often for me (because I'm relatively cautious when handling my devices), but the few occasions that it has happened...it was gut wrenching seeing my phone fall down to the cement.

Android updates have to be less frequent considering how many versions (GB, ICS, JB) of Android are out there at one given time as opposed to only one (1) iOS.

I disagree with your statement. Just because Android gives code names to their versions doesn't mean it is any different than iOS. Android still has version numbers (4.1.1 - Jelly Bean). Unless you are talking about different versions in the sense that each phone seems to get updates at different times. I'm pretty sure it is still technically the same "version" though.

And Microsoft uses fruit for Windows Phone, doesn't it?

Not certain what you're talking about or maybe you misunderstood me. Android "code" names are their versions. (Android version history) Across various devices there's no telling what version of Android they may be running which makes updating slow. Hell, some phones never may get a newer version of the Android OS.

With iOS there's only one iPhone which makes updating faster and easier.

But iOS has 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 5.1, 5.1.1, 6.0, etc. Not all iPhones are compatible with all iOS versions just like some Android phones never get the latest Android version.

Either way whatever it doesn't really matter lol.

i am starting to think that the Sprint version will have an embedded SIM instead of the usual removable type.
I wrote this on xda earlier...

according to the image of the test phone from sxtp-forum.com

the area where the sim card goes is missing.

To get an idea of where exactly the sim card would be go to this unboxing video at time index 2:21 to see where the sim car is located on the international versions shipping now.

My only hope is that the test unit on sxtp is just that a test unit and may differ from the actual Sprint version. But only time will tell.

I hope that the test model is definitely just that, cuz it looks that the test model pictured is very square compared to the Korean sgnote2.

OMG. You're right! Oh no!

Okay, I think we all need to take a step back from the ledge...LOL. This is why I think Sprint is doing the right thing and bringing over the same design as the Korean/International/UK version:

Sprint Newsroom | Samsung Galaxy Note II

They'd get a ton of backlash, after releasing a "formal" press release with a fact sheet, but delivering a completely different looking device.

Also, I looked through the fact sheet again, and saw this info:

International Voice and Data capable with GSM/UMTS/CDMA networks

But I'd be willing to bet that TS is right and the SIM will be embedded & locked. Maybe, with a slight modification, that can be changed? If so, I may end up getting the remainder of my buy back from Best Buy on my Photon...LOL...which, I'll have good reason to keep the Note II, for when my next upgrade comes up in 18 months (wish they had kept the 1 year upgrades going).
