hope this gets resolved before it hits the US shores.
Still not a deal breaker for me because it should get an update.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Units Arriving Without Advertised Feature

Samsung confirmed that an update will fix this.

Don't anyone panic.......

(like I did earlier...LOL)

Here are some links I found, reading the XDA thread discussing it, that seem like it's just an update that will likely be pushed to other Note 2's that don't have it. I bet it's a feature that everybody is going to be clamoring for:

Initial batch of UK/International Note II stock does not have ‘Multi-Window’, but it will be added OTA in coming weeks

And from one of the links, looks like Sprint version is in the clear as far as being the same as the Korean version (at least the diagram looks that way). But that's just a drawing because there's a short term non-disclosure on the actual device.

Date of testing was 8/14-9/7, so looks like it's already been there for almost 2 months! No wonder it's projected for a late October/Early November release.

According to the Confidentiality request letter, all External, Internal and test-setup photos as well as the users manual can be blocked from being put on the FCC site for 180 days from Sept 6th. Which leads us to Tuesday March 6th 2013.

I believe that is for the International version. Not the Sprint version. Mind you the letter says 180 days, but that does not mean it will be withheld that long since I assume the moment the Note is deployed it will come with a manual or a link to the online one.

These are the dimensions of the Korean/International version:
149.9 x 81.3 x 10.2 mm

Sprint version measures up as follows:
150.5 x 80.0 x ??? mm

That is pretty darn close enough for me to believe Sprint won't get a "variant"! Aside from the official Sprint Press Release, which actually has the dimensions of what was (at that time) only the International/Korean version, this is good enough for me to believe it'll be the same (physically).

You know what that means? That means, I'm buying me a SGP screen protector a couple weeks prior to the "official" release...LOL.

I believe you're correct since under the wifi section it states the frequency is intended for European devices

I didn't put this video in the Advertising thread since it's not really a marketing one.

I like it because it shows..
1-size comparisons with other brands at time index 0:56
2-how fast it turns on and off compared to other brands at time-index 1:31
3-the UI responsiveness at time index 2:02 and
4-the camera's quick responsiveness/auto focus and multi-shots at time index 2:54

Oh and the music is pretty cool too.

My apologies for the absence guys and gals.

Will have in hand again on Thursday. Pics are now allowed.

Can pretty much get whatever you guys want.

Thanks for stopping in! I need to know if bigger memory versions will be offered and if multi tasking capabilities will be usable from launch or if we'll have to wait like others.

Question, are those gsm bands capable of being used on international gsm attenaes (say like Europe and Germany)? I would like to keep sprint, and but I don't want to buy another phone if they deploy me to another country. I know sprint has intl. gsm capable phones, and but I was hoping that I could use the GN2 when I'm stationed here and freeze my account when I'm deployed over seas and use intl sim card.

The mobile gods have answered us. They brought you back from the abyss. Glad you are back. :)

That would be a very good question to ask Mr.Eds source.
S4gru is coming out with a article about that in the next day or so. Once they do, I'll post up the link to the article.

The Note 2 I just ordered today here in Finland is said to use those frequencies and 900MHz and 2100MHz on top of those.

As I understand it the whole europe uses the same frequencies, at least my iPhone (bought in Finland as well) worked nicely on my trips to Spain and Italy.

From the fcc report the GSM bands look to only be 850 & 1900. These bands seem to only be compatible with the Americas.

From wikipedia:

Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia

In Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia, most of the providers use 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands. GSM-900 is most widely used. Fewer operators use DCS-1800 and GSM-1800. A dual-band 900/1800 phone is required to be compatible with almost all operators. At least the GSM-900 band must be supported in order to be compatible with many operators. However, Thailand has also approved for some time now the use of the GSM-1900 band in an attempt to alleviate network congestion.

FCC Information

Also looks like it will not be completely future proof with LTE not capable of running on the soon to be reused IDEN spectrum.

Wasn't the former Iden Spectrum on 850mhz?
