Root Quick settings and Z4Root dont work on prevail.

I would also like to root my Prevail. Any and all help in getting a working root method going would be appreciated!!:o That said....anyone know of a currently working way to get flash player working or how to move/install apps onto the SD card.

This phone uses the ARM6 processor, I think thats the one it does not have flash support.
Adobe specifically excluded that processor.
 
as all known root exploits fail, so flashing a prerooted kernel may be the only way.. im downloading sauce right now and see if i cant compile something that may work.

we have a test kernel right now that isnt rooted, i cant promise that it will work, but i am gunna try making a stock rom with root in it so we can boot up and get the needed files so i can be sure that the kernel works and that will allow a proper kernel and then root. like i said im not making any promises but this seems to be the best/only way to go about it. anyways im going to bed now feel free to join the channel and just lurk or talk, there isnt a lot of guys in there so dont be surprised if no one answers right away

The Prevail won’t be seeing Flash support, as its Qualcomm MSM7627 is only ARM6, where Flash needs an ARM7 or better CPU.

I really hope your efforts work out, but there are other options to think about. :)

Now, there may be ways to work around this to a certain point. We'll have to work on porting a ROM with Sense from a Hero or something. However, that will only give Flash Lite.

Now, technically, the Prevail has a Qualcomm MSM7627-3 for which I am trying to track down the significance of, but we'll have to see what can be pulled out and worked.
 
As the owner of a Prevail who would love flash to work, I hope you have lots of luck. I'm down for anything that makes this thing do all of those wonderful things that could be possible with it rooted and flash working. If you need to test something on my phone...let me know.

i have tryed alot or rooting apps. And there not working i have got pda net working but i wourld like my phone to be rooted so i am will to help as much as prosible...
 
I downloaded an adobe flash player 10.1 apk (version 10.1.61.68) and was able to install it on my Prevail. I don't think it works though, pages with flash fail to load.
 
This still an ARMV6 processor, flash will not work with this chipset. It doesn't matter what your clocked at, the chip itself is not able to handle it. I really wish people would read the requirements for flash and the phones that will support it before they start posting that it doesn't work

I know adobe excluded the armv6 processor, but if you looked at the xda link it said the flash was modified to not look at the cpu. To me that meant it had a chance of working. It did not oh well that is all I was looking to find out.
 
I do hope some sort of root is achieved, I dont like apps that can not be removed, I like my phone streamlined and only running things I want on there.
 
This is a stupid ass droid you cant transfer you stuff to the card you cant rooot find casrs for it.if i can not get this rooted in month im going to crickey at less i root those phones even there new one.. by the way does the bar code scanner work for yall mot me lol like wtf.. cant wait to see what htc is releasing for cticket in nov.

was wondering if anyone could tell me more about this function call? Gservices.getString(getContentResolver(), "update_url"); I know it grabs the string from getContentResolver(), but how could I find out what getContentResolver() is pointing too?

on howard forums someone posted pic2shop app works they said the barcode scanners all look for the autofocus and since this phone does not have it they wont work.
