Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I still have no power and I think I'm still buzzing like a bee
Was up till 4 with my minions .. One who lives down and across the street
My side of the street has no power the other side does at least I got to crash her house for a change!! And I brought extra glasses and empty cigarette butts and beer bottles and Taco Bell wrappers with me on purpose!! Muwahahahaha
Wait!! Hahaha I just remembered something!! Yikes! Her Next door neighbor was having a bachelor party!!!

I think the Fahrenheit scale is stupid.. like what does it relate to? Celsius is more logical and easier to benchmark.. 0

I have no idea what is okay in this thread at times even though I am just ranting / venting about how much this country sucks.

And boy does it suck!

I live in Fort Knocks (the whole of SA does actually and hear a lot of gun shots here around my area at times. Those that don't give their house barbed wire and electric fences or just very good security have a death wish and are suicidal! And those people here just don't exist!) so I guess that just grinds me gears that I live in Fort Knocks! :)

Watching Lost when I've seen it before with someone who doesn't have an iota of patience grinds my gears.

Conversely, I'm sure answers of

"I can't remember"
"I watched this years ago, honestly I can't remember"
"Just watch it"
"You don't find out till the Xth Season"

It came to a close, aye. In response to your other questions -

But seriously, I can't actually remember, we're season 5 now so I'll find out soon.

The only show I remember basically every episode inside out is Battle Star Galactica (because I've watched it about 70 times).
 
Which Battlestar? I liked the original. After that it went off OTA TV. We don't have cable.

Looked at one episode of Lost and thought it was some kind of reality show. Too farfetched.
 
Lol well tell me when u see the finale Pres' to save me watchin it. I think the only series i know inside out are Startrek Voyager and The Big Bang Theory. (The latter is endlessly repeated a couple of times a day lol but not in order) :banghead:

The new one... watched the whole series on Netflix. Slutty Cylons and logical fallacies aside, it was pretty entertaining.
 
Will do man cheers. Its something i never watched. I need my sci fi kinda intelligent and not to cheezy. Will i like it?
 
Battle star is worth the watch!! Lost was good at the beginning... But then Fonzie jumped the shark.. It got really stupid the last 2 seasons

Oh.. And Star Trek voyager is also very good!! Actually... Any Star Trek is good

Wildlife!
I had a bird smack into a window this am - bird's OK, took off. Now I have 2 squirrels chasing each other on the roof.

You'd be surprised how heavyfooted a small animal is. If the kid was running the ferrets in her room upstairs, from underneath her room it sounded like a herd of horses. Average weigh of ferret s/h/b under 2 pounds. These squirrels are probably the same weight and they sounded like a far larger animal. The noise also drives the cats nuts.
 
Do people still remove the scent glands from ferrets over there mate? I know its illegal here but the smell is the only thing stopping me have a pet one. Theyre really cool animals :thumbup:
 
The ones in the pet stores have them removed. Privately bred - up to the new owner.
The Vulcan hated the smell. I never really smelled the girls - they were privately bred.
They are now in the UK, kid has 3 batches of ferrets, and none get along! The Brit ferrets can't stand the American ones. Nor can one group of Brit ferrets stand the other group of Brit ferrets. We've had up to 7 here and they all got along. Is a Polecat a wild ferret? A polecat here is a skunk. Ferret rescue had some Chinese Polecats - she was registered to keep them. Looked like our Black-foots which are extremely endangered.

About animals on the roof - our neighbors had a hot tub and a fairly low roof overhang. One day we watched a fox chase a squirrel all over the roof. I can imagine what THAT sounded like.
 
Lol. Right, here a polecat is a less domesticated ferret. I dont think either of them are native here though. I suppose the wild equivalent would be stoats and weasels. Do skunks have rodent teeth or the meat eater fangs of ferrets and badgers?
Theres something kinda nice about the ferrets scent, kinda like honey in a way but mixed with amonia lol. I could never keep them indoors but id feel wrong removing their scent glands.
Are Sugar Gliders popular as pets in the states? I wanted one but after doin a LOT of research i changed my mind. They are mega cool though :)
 
Skunks are also Mustilidae like ferrets. They spray for defense and it's mercaptan. Stinks worse than ferrets. Don't have too many natural enemies. Even a mountain lion will think twice. So will a rattlesnake. Skunks are good mousers and can be trained. Only one state allows them as pets.

She has 2 dagus along with the rest of the zoo.

I'm just glad the whole zoo isn't here. I wound up with the ferrets in my sewing room. They always wanted to be part of the action - you'd feel eyes staring at you.
 
I went for groceries. In store there was this little girl sobbing. A gorgeous red head, hairs boblined at ear length. Her daddy told me she just had it cut this short and that she donated approx 25 cm in length to this foundation. I brought this foundation to the hairdresser's attention one day, cos it's collecting hair for wigs for kids with cancer. I felt bad for her, thanked her, told her she helped another kid, who's ill and sad for having no hair at all. But felt grateful in the same. Bought her an icecream, which made her smile a bit. :o
