Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

@Stinky

Actually I'm a sky-blue pink polkadotted alien from Akrab.

Amerikaaner. My mother spoke some PlattDeutsch and from reading history of words I can catch some. I like meeting others and hearing their viewpoints.

Lol my canadian ex's brother told me "goof" is a really bad insult over there.. punchable.. was he talkin crap?x

no ..not at all!!
it's just means silly.. short for goofy! Don't know about Canada but I'm pretty sure it means the same thing there too! think he was goofing with ya:)

You know what really grinds my gears? When I can't go and relax at a coffee house without having someone walk up to me and ask me about my job, or worse rant about things they don't like about the company. (Wearing my work uniform, trying to sip a Moocha before it's time to clock.)

What uniform is that?

Work polo. I'm sitting in the corner, sipping my mooocha, listening to music, and I have had 5 people at different intervals come up to me and comment, complain, or ask questions.

What do I look like, GOOGLE?

You work for Google? That's awesome. I always get people comment when I wear my Google shirt, one person asked me if I worked for them. Haha

Today has been the WORST day I have ever had at work.
Anything that could go wrong, did.
Any mistake that could be made, was.
Any order that could get screwed up, did.
Any tool that could break, broke.
Any complaint that could be filed, was.

I almost gave up.

Only an hour to go  :(

not a happy camper today am I.

Rant over.

Thank you. ;)

But you didn't give up!
Wrap up, time to go home pal.

And remember... we all love you here, which is supposed to make it bearable :D

Why does EVERY drunk male (and sometimes female) insist on punching the metal pull-down shutter on the shop opposite me? Like... whats it ever done to you?? Wow you made a big loud bang and now your dripping blood down yourself lol :confused::confused:

That's one of the things I kind of miss from the United Kingdom..the late night sound of drunks banging on metal pull-down shutters.

Lived in Uptown Minneapolis for many years and I didn't mind it so much while I was there, but I am far from missing it now. One of the big differences though is then I was one of those drunks.
Now I just enjoy the quiet after the boy goes to bed, in a much quieter part of the city.:tee:

This is what I see from my apartment..the concrete factory, quite a few cranes and construction sites and a couple of government buildings.

After midnight it's very quiet, apart from trains in the distance, took a while to get used to that as well. Occasionally there's a couple of drunks coming out of the local all night mah-jongg parlour, but they usually leave things well alone.

EDIT..

Last month when I was staying with an old school-friend near the middle of Bristol, it was like nearly every other shop was either charity, pawnbroker, cheque cashing or short-term loans.
