Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

This thread is starting to remind me of a Monty Python sketch.

(Sound: Church bells, lots of them, ringing.)
Man (Graham Chapman): I wish those bloody bells would stop.
Wife (Terry Jones): Oh, it's quite nice dear, it's Sunday, it's the church.
Man: What about us atheists? Why should we have to listen to that sectarian turmoil?

Monty Python: Bells

We don't have that in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia... "I wish those bloody bells would stop." or "town hall clock tower chimes every quarter!" :p

Then there's Beijing Railway Station, where all people in the area accept bells chiming the hour with "The East Is Red" 24/7 "The Communist Party is like the sun...."

Oh well tomorrow is back to normal, summer holiday is over. Local elementary school will be blasting out "The East Is Red" on their loudspeakers for the whole neighbourhood to hear at 7am.

Take a listen, I love this track...

There is no more to be said here!

The evidence is flawless....

You know what grinds my gears? Back problems. Ugh, guess I slept in the bed wrong last night. :(

EDIT: And now the bus is late.

EDIT 2: The bus is late on the way home too.

Haha true :D
"Every cloud has a silver lining" then

On that note... the latest useless "gadget" purchase picked up a day in shipping. Means I'll have it for the weekend rather than having to wait until Monday.

Glad I checked it a 5th time today :)

The only things I get in the mail are someone else's mail, bills, junk and attempted debt collections. :/

I've been at my current address over a year now. Is there a reasonable explanation for why I'm still getting mail for previous occupants, including important stuff related to their health insurance?

Someone in the issuing office is too lazy or too "busy" to change addresses.

I had this with medical faxes where I worked. Somehow a medical company got our fax number. They were sending all kinds of info, including all the patient's id and personal info. I called them about 6 times and explained they were faxing a marketing company for radio commercials, and it never stopped them. I felt sorry for the patients involved, but I finally shredded everything since the medical company would not stop using our fax number.

You know what really grinds my gears? When a tractor trailer truck fishtails into my car and totals it.. Then the insurance company only offers me half of the book value!!!

Yikes! Decline the offer and say it's not acceptable and tell them why. They, like any company, are trying to get away with as much money as possible in their pockets.

... wish I had known that was an option when I was younger and my brother totaled my restored classic car. :/

Absolutely - do NOT accept the offer: the insurance company is trying it on . Write them back - if you can afford it, have a lawyer write the letter for you.

Years ago, some eejit lost control of his car when speeding down my street, hit a car parked in front of mine shunting it into mine, then he span off and demolished the garden wall. I wasn't even in the country at the time - nice news to greet me when I got home.

Couple of weeks later, the eejit's insurance company - also eejits - wrote to me demanding payment for the damage to the eejits car and the car that he shunted into mine because - according to them - the accident had been my fault!

Needless to say, I demurred .. :D
