To be fair to Google though, the unavailability of music, movies, books, magazines in many countries. It's down to what the rights holders impose, i.e. Hollywood, MPAA, RIAA, record labels, book publishers, etc. We can't buy music, TV shows and movies from Apple iTunes in China either. If you want legal music, you have to go to Baidu instead, although it is free and has a very good selection of English language music, in addition to all the Mandopop. :D

Yeah, maybe, however one of the big selling points with Nexus devices is Google Now, sounds like a fun app. but "not available in your country" along with Google+ updates which "fail" every time. Might as well delete it.....oh that's right can't.
BTW what do you use for movies Mike, everything that I can find is Chinese? Tudou, Kan Kan, etc.

I got rid of MS years ago. I had bought a nice high end laptop and back then you didn't have firefox, ad-aware, etc, just the plain old antivirus. I made a simple typo in internet explorer something like Google and ended up at some porn site in another language that started spewing popups faster than I could close them I rebooted and the popups kept coming. Started digging and searching, removing stuff from the run key in the registry, etc. After a couple hours of trying to clean the crap off I just reinstalled windows.
Same thing happened 6 months later and I was already messing with Linux under vmware and finally decided on a distro and setup a dual boot.
Over the next couple years I found I had to boot into Windows less and less and finally when I swapped in a bigger hdd I didn't bother with the dual boot.
Its been about 10 years now.

Cocky instrumentalist grind my gears.

I'm a senior in high school in the symphonic band (the tree goes Symphonic which is at the top, then Concert, then Varsity, and at the very bottom is Junior Varsity) and sometimes I hear this freshman Euphonium player who always talks $h!t about the trombone players (I play the trombone, 2nd chair symphonic). He played the trombone for a week in 8th grade and said that he was better than the rest of the trombone players including us seniors who have been playing it since we were in 6th grade. It pisses me off that he's being so cocky like that, so I just told him "if you're so good how cone you aren't in symphonic then?" And that finally got him to shut the frick up. Gah. I hate having to rip on people like that but I have my limits...

Another thing is the wifi tethering on my device. Every little change I make in my rom breaks something! Even if I just change the default wallpaper something will bug out and make the thing crash, specifically with wifi! GOD! I wish I had a Nexus sometimes, development on that phone is waaaaaaay easier -___- damn zte... the last couple of changes I made broke wifi tethering... I haven't even touched the settings.apk where the smali that controls it is! All I did was theme the damn menu not make it so it turns into a nuclear bomb for christs sake >_<

Another dev said the source code looks like it was written by a bunch of interns -__-

Fortunately, I didn't have this problem, but getting pregnant isn't easy for everyone....

AND... What is currently grinding my gears is needing to download apps for things my phone should do natively. Maps GPS is a system app. Turn-by-turn directions currently suck. "Turn right" doesn't help me when there are 3 right turn offs at the exit ramp....

Had to install mapquest.
 
MS Access is grinding my gears something fierce... if I were to do this in OOo Base, I'd be half-done already. :banghead:

I don't use MS unless its a work provided system in which case they pay for it and support it. I but in a ticket this week asking for my SQL mgmt studio to get the latest service pack.

I used MS money way back when and upgraded each year and the last eyar I used it it refused to read my file. I even paid for support on it and MS decided my file must be corrupt even though i could install the old version and read it fine. So I had to use Money 98 on one computer and Money 99 on another to see all my register.
And I've had workstations and the occasional server refuse to boot due to a license issue despite being enterprise licensed.
I've had Excel, Word, Sharepoint all eat hours worth of work due to a bug or crash.
 
That's why I used non-MS programs on Windows. Adobe, Corel, Firefox, Opera.
Rarely have a crash. Now I have Libre Office, but I still like WP suite9. I can run that on virtual XP.
The other stuff has no Windows equivalent. It's mostly for crafting. The only real fit I've had is HP printers printing gibberish that you can't clear.

BTW if you're in China, or any foreign country, make sure your visa is up to date.
