What really put me off getting a Nexus phone is that's it's only 16GB non-expandable, i.e. no SD. By the time I install the apps I need, plus the data they use, pictures, etc. it doesn't leave much room for anything else like music and videos. Google Music is not available in China of course. Was looking at getting an Oppo Find last week, quite a nice phone, manufacturer endorses the use of community ROMs as well, like CyanogenMod. However only 16GB non-expandable, 10GB usable. The iPhone is available upto 64GB, however we pay one hell of a premium for that in China, over $1,000 USD. I'm sure the 5S is the most expensive regular cellphone that's on sale in China, outside of uber-luxury things like the Vertu and Goldvish.
To be fair to Google though, the unavailability of music, movies, books, magazines in many countries. It's down to what the rights holders impose, i.e. Hollywood, MPAA, RIAA, record labels, book publishers, etc. We can't buy music, TV shows and movies from Apple iTunes in China either. If you want legal music, you have to go to Baidu instead, although it is free and has a very good selection of English language music, in addition to all the Mandopop.![]()
Yeah, maybe, however one of the big selling points with Nexus devices is Google Now, sounds like a fun app. but "not available in your country" along with Google+ updates which "fail" every time. Might as well delete it.....oh that's right can't.
BTW what do you use for movies Mike, everything that I can find is Chinese? Tudou, Kan Kan, etc.
