Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I gave up with the hair thing when I was half my age.

School dinner. Can never understand the cutlery in this place, always a pair of wooden sticks.

It's duck, but not Peking duck.

Sent from the Phandroid app.

I should've taken a pic of my dinner... I've been diabetic all of my life, but when I was young, our house-calling GP told my mother about different types of rice, that sent her off to an Asian market with your's truly in tow... at any rate, even though I use 80 units a day of 70/30 insulin, always eating afterward, I ate some jasmine rice, snow peas, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, with chicken and shitake mushrooms; you had Peking (insert pejorative here; work on your paranormal skills, eh?); I did marginally better, as the rice was leftovers... maybe. Your school lunch plate looked better than what we ate as kids - have a good day - LW

Happy Christmas Eve, to everyone; what really grinds my gears... apps from the Play Store that come with nifty features like Airpush; that's how my relatively spam-free email account got inundated with Photobucket just awhile ago... @#*! Let me take the sting out of my last statement, with this photo. LOve to all.

Wow, mikedt - we're brothers from different mothers - you and I could put a new spin on, "My hair... my hair. I can't do a thing with it!" LoL

Cool... rode a friend's 1986 Kowalski (chuckle) Ninja 250 that summer on the Outer Banks of North Carolina; was doing 120 mph on the beach road; got pulled over by a very gorgeous lady cop - I talked my way out of a ticket, and I was playing with an East Coast Beach Music group called The Rhondells at the time - I invited her to come to the show, my treat. Her bar tab was almost $100 with the tip, but as the saying goes, it was worth it... in more ways than one... my last bike was a 2006 H-D Road King - had to kiss that one off due to divorce. Now, I've got titanium in my spine - can't ride anymore. Memories... ;)

What really grinds my gears? All of you lucky people who got to spend Christmas with friends and family; I got to spend it with two dogs, my musical gear, and a satellite television that provides 200 + channels of depression-inducing PAP... Clonazepam, & Latuda are the prescriptions that my psychiatrist favors for guys like me who suffer from depression, PTSD, and anxiety (I used to take a 5-pill cocktail, but the deleterious effects made me switch doctors - haha). All I can say is that people who had a measured IQ of 155 like myself usually end up not being 'wrapped too tightly'; I got into a lifestyle of drug abuse of many different flavors; rehab became my middle name by the time I reached my mid-twenties. I've been clean for many years, but damn it - you still have to re-educate your coping skills, and that is very difficult, at least for myself. My dream is to learn Android OS, so that I can channel all of this angst into something positive; I dream of helping others create interactive ROMs that have virtual personal assistants, that can determine the user's mood, and help the aforementioned have a productive day with less stress. Ah, the ramblings of a 51-year-old dinosaur; I need Android For Dummies, Linux for the same, and Dalvik for Dunces... if anyone reads this post, and believes that I could do this - and wants to lend a hand - I would be eternally grateful. My fianc

Hmmm you are a very interesting man... I also for a while have been feeling like... dabbling a little bit in drugs... I am so depressed sometimes it is scary.

I can't believe how well you understood my song like that to the T.

That was impressive I cannot deny it.

Well I don't think I am that smart at all and sometimes I wish I had something other people have lol and sometimes I feel like the biggest dork on the planet and wish I could escape.

Sad. :(

Well to help you with your attachment or upload thingy you go to the very top of this whole web page :)

And you click on "CP" or I think it is "User CP" which you will see in the first green navigation bar if you go to the top of this page.

Then once in there go riiiiiiight to the bottom of the page (only once you have selected "User CP") and go to the bottom of that new page and riiiiiight at the bottom to your left there will be a green navigation pane / frameset.

You will (should) see attachments.

And there you go... Bob is your half Auntie.

If you are struggling to find it and if you are on a PC just hold down "ctrl" and then "F" buttons on your keyboard to perform the search function.

just type in "user cp" lower case doesn't matter it should find it regardless I dont think the search is case sensitive which I don't think is that good an idea actually but that is another story.

And check that out.

I hope that works. :0

You are a very interesting man... I can see yes you are extremely clever / intelligent... I also feel a bit mad at times... I had huge mental health issues. :(

I am... a bit delusional at times... I feel like taking very heavy drugs ... sometimes my family is extremely hectic and even life itself seems scary and things are not what they seem to me at times and my crazy imagination - I loose the grips and the reins and the beast runs off into the distance with me on top of it.

Then I am screaming trying to calm it down but then it becomes deaf or refusal ... maybe defiant is the correct word I should use actually...

I will defy you.

So yes... I also feel like escaping... it is my fracking heavy Neptune influence... it is very big in me... very big Mercury influence too.

Huge as well in me.

I had schizophrenia.

I was hated by my friends ... hated by my family...

I will defy you.

Well, I am happy to be spending the holidays with family, keeping in mind those many years when I was halfway around the world, looking at the endless waters of one ocean or other, or guarding a patch of sand against possible intrusion from people who don't like my ilk.

If you are home and somewhat comfortable, just keep in mind all those women and men who are not.

What grinds my gears for now...

Hmm... I think it is my narrow mind that grinds my gears.

Sometimes I feel like I have lost that ability to walk a mile or 2 in some one else shoes... more like forgotten ... or maybe refusal to accept the truth?

I grind my gears today.

Got a doctor's appointment for my back.

I hope this gets solved.

:-(

Extreme back pain that makes me irritated and ... angry grinds my gears.

>:-/

But I gotta be lucky I can still walk.

I should be grateful.

It is bad I have got such pain driving me mad at a young age... but then again some people don't even make it "through the gate"... they are still born.

I am grateful for small mercies.

Dangersome's post is spot-on. I support our troops, but nation-building and geopolitical hijinks aren't my cup of meat, as Manfred Mann said back in the '60s in the song 'The Mighty Quinn'... I was too young for Vietnam, and too old for punk rock, New Wave, and hiphop. I lost two cousins in Vietnam, lived through the Apollo program and Watergate, and got a worthless liberal arts shingle after high school. I'm 51 years old, and I've seen a lot. I cringe when FallOutBoy and Evanescence come across my radio speakers; I, as Brian Wilson wrote in a song from the album 'Pet Sounds', just wasn't made for these times. I raised two kids with an alcoholic wife; they are now 22 and 21, a son and daughter. I'm divorced five years; I buried three family members between 1996 to 2006; life, can grind your gears. However, things can change - I met the most beautiful sober (she'll be sober 11 years January 14, 2014) woman 15 months ago; she's a size 4, with size 6 feet. Five-feet two inches of Colorado sunshine. Beautiful; delicate, like a bone-china teacup. Not bad for a second-generation Italian-American from Massachusetts. The gears of life, though ground, have received new vitality. Happy? Oh, yes.

I just had an urge to share a song with most of Inner Mongolia, Shenzhen, Beijing, Hangzhou etc.

mikedt, dee-jay to the outer reaches of the Far East; what really grinds my gears? That he could do this! I'm envious, mikedt - you rock! It's good to know that even in China, unbridled Internet access can be accomplished. Good for you, man.

People who call in way after their shift already started. Especially when they are leaving their co-worker to work alone.

Yeah, I'm sick of the bull hockey...

Hopefully today is a good day anyways.

I don't want to start a war but iOS is just horrible on my iPod in using now. I was typing a post earlier, then went to the home screen to go to safari to search something. Then I open tapatalk again and boom the app completely restarts from the beginning not saving anything that I wrote. Multi tasking is so bad. I know what kind of phone in not going to get when I get a phone. That's an iPhone. I don't know how people deal with this crap.

This is what happened when I got NY hands on a 3GS.

Multitasking gets worse and worse as you climb up the iOS ladder.

Oh wow. I used to have a 3GS. Got worse and worse with every update.

A girl I used to date had an iPhone 3GS; though I am a Mac computer fan, the iOS historically gets sludgy as you add more apps, and multi-tasking becomes increasingly more difficult. It was that iPhone that moved me to the Android platform, an EVO 4G; then, a 3VO. Health and finances moved me to a pay-as-you-go plan, Boost, and I ended up giving root/SU privileges via USB and PC, using Odin - to a Samsung Prevail. I have multiple ROMs that I have backed up Nandroid, and the original .zip files should I need to start fresh from a wipe; the ROMs that work best are CM7MOD, CT-Mod, Megatron, 187Honeybread6, and once you tweak the CPU & SD card - CM9 3.5.5 Kang, though missing camera drivers and having balky Wi-Fi, the jitters go away for the most part, and you get that ICS/JB experience. Android rules, though ART

remains to be seen for future, stable development on our side of life (according to an unnamed Mod here in the forums). I'm just a 51-year-old babe in the woods, with the burning desire to learn more. I also hope that I'm not considered to be a Vulcan Luddite. Looking forward to a great 2014, LW
