Thieves are definitely an unwelcome aspect in our lives. I remember when I moved from my home state, to a new one. I made new friends, and never imagined that one of my new friends would break into my parents' house, where I lived briefly after college, and steal my 25th Anniversary Edition Gibson Les Paul electric guitar; everyone knew who did it, we filed a police report, and due to homeowner's insurance, I was able to get another guitar - but, not the one that I had; they had all sold out; collectors had snapped them up, and were either 'sitting' on them, or willing to sell them above retail price. I was angry, and my idealism about humans being basically 'good' took a serious hit. You, Amarie, had your wallet stolen. You may have to cancel credit cards, get a new driver's license, among other things; my thoughts are with you, and may your New Year bring you good things. I ended up buying a very expensive Fender Stratocaster those many years ago, which placed me firmly where my 'guitar gods' lived - things'll work out; be well. ;)

Thanks and that is so sad it really does make you look at people different. I canceled my cards and ordered new ones. I have to go get a new license and get new insurance cards. I too knew who took it.

I give up on humanity

This ad makes me mad and whoever took your stuff is really sad. I got a new PS4 for my lady and someone decided to open the package and take the console out when it shipped to my address. Thankfully the people at Sony and PlayStation apologized and just gave me a new one. Wish you the best of luck.

I don't want to start a war but iOS is just horrible on my iPod in using now. I was typing a post earlier, then went to the home screen to go to safari to search something. Then I open tapatalk again and boom the app completely restarts from the beginning not saving anything that I wrote. Multi tasking is so bad. I know what kind of phone in not going to get when I get a phone. That's an iPhone. I don't know how people deal with this crap.

The only reason why I use an iPhone is that it has a better signal on Boost Mobile. I'd jumped from a Prevail II to a GS3 to an F7. They all dropped calls like crazy. Finally got an iPhone 5c, problem was resolved.

I do use my Note 3 on T-Mobile for everything data related though. I couldn't possibly research anything usefully on the iPhone. Nor can I stand doing anything media related on such a tiny screen.

It's a good combination for me as Sprint works in the country areas I go to and T-Mobile doesn't. In the city, however, T-Mobile is really fast and dependable.

I had someone steal my whole purse from work once. It is amazing just how inconsiderate people are of each other. This world could be such a great place, but we'd need everyone to be involved. I just don't see that happening.... =(

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope there wasn't anything that can't be replaced in there...

O wow that's terrible. Some people these days. That's great they gave you a new one though. Thanks! You as well!

Thank you and the whole purse wow. Sorry to hear that. yes we all do but some people just don't care about others these days. I can replace all of it just the hassle of doing so is what sucks. What makes it worse is its the holidays so I have to wait to get my card mailed paid extra so I'd get it faster get a new license. Its just a bad day and I need a hug :(

I've been on Spaceship Earth for 51 years now. I remember back in '60s as a youngster 5 minutes on the T from Boston that no one had to lock their doors; 'stranger danger' didn't exist, and Halloween was parent-free. Back then, people weren't polarized and insulated. I love technology, but it has its downside: it reduces real human-to-human contact, which makes community interaction obsolete, unless you're involved in someone's political campaign, or a high-school pep rally... I guess that's what is grinding my gears today; though we're able to communicate around the world on our data-utilizing devices, we're not community-interactive, like in times past; I'm grateful to be able to share thoughts in this Android community, but I might spend five minutes with my neighbors in one month; my fault, entirely - but I live in the country, and I'm an urbanite - not a great mix. However, I should look past differences, and be amenable.

I do miss old times sometimes. My parents never went trick or treating with us and growing up we never had to lock our door. It is sad how the world has become nowadays. You are correct we don't talk to our neighbors or friends like we use to its all thru social media or apps of some sort.

What really grinds my gears about this subject is that while this burgeoning technology is ever-increasing, common-courtesy amongst human beings is slowly becoming yet another item of yesteryear; for example, I was in a in the middle of a phone conversation with a family member that I see once every three years, or so; this person, who is the last surviving member of my original nuclear family, says after twenty minutes of conversation, "Gotta go. Just got a text from Xxxxx Xxxxxx, and I'm planning a trip to Santa Monica next month; I'll call you back in a few minutes."
No conversation occurred for almost a week. I gave up trying to call back after three days, once a day. I guess I just wasn't made for these times (Brian Wilson/Peter Asher)... be well, amarie82, mikedt, Dngrsome, and Stinky Stinky. ;)

I just found out yesterday that the temp job at the warehouse I'm working at is coming to a close at the end of the week. Luckily for me, I have another job that's starting next Monday. I just feel sorry for the coworkers that weren't quite as prepared for it.

What grinds my gears is how slow the bus driver was driving this mornen trying to hit every empty bu stop, come on man i'm the only ****** that was up that early coming to WORK :stupido:

I'll be glad when gas prices go down so i can drive my car again

I had a metro bus driver that was the opposite; cinched in with belts in a wheelchair in Nov. 2012, the driver slammed the accelerator, and one of the belts shifted; had it not been for my traveling partner, I would've broke my neck. No local attorney would touch the case... it happened again, but not as bad as the first time. Solution: got my car back on the road, and to cover gas - I'd carpool. Never rode the bus again.

Damn Samsung and their devices' contrary attitude toward SD cards...

Dngrsone -
What happened? As a fellow Samsung user, any heads-up I can get from you would be welcome. I'm using a class 10 32 gB Sans Disk SD card in a Prevail that bounces around between 5 Nandroid-backed up ROMs, plus I have the original zips, and they all share the same mp3 files stored... happy new year - LW

Prevails don't eat SD cards. Some of the other Sammies do and are more than particular about what brands.

My Galaxy S3 wouldn't take my old Optimus V's card so I had to buy another card. ._. Worst day of my life. The OV would take the 8GB card fine; the S wouldn't. They certainly are picky.

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 that hates SD cards... corrupts folders, says it's empty, but I can pull data off it in any computer.

I've put several different cards into it, hoping to make some magical pairing.

Dngrswife's Galaxy SII E4GT it's almost as stubborn.

Oh, you mean the SD Cards becoming stuck within the phones? Gotcha, EarlyMon - thanks, and Happy New Year to you, and yours - LW. And, yes - PC backups are just as - if not more important - than ye olde Nandroid backups.
PS - this artwork was done by my 21-year-old daughter Talia, mixed-media - I hope that you find it to be a welcome addition to this thread in the Lounge, maybe it'll

Exactly. Sorry you got bit.

Anyway - Happy New Year, peace to all. :)

I can only learn by asking, since I've never experienced any problems SD-wise with my phone; I've got a thick skin. No worries. Happy New Year ;) A pic of my better half ;)
