Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Ever done something that you just regret doing afterwards? I keep trying to tell myself that nothing bad happened, no real consequences but the thought keeps popping up in my head, and trying to forget it is much harder than I thought.

Ben there, done that, many a time.

Ben there, done that, many a time.

It totally blows me away when people acknowledge their transgressions; it lets me know that the de-evolution of humankind may be a longer wait for the coming generations. It brings the quintessence of the word that humankind needs more than ever - HOPE; and right now, with everything going on with my love's life - hope is very, very important to me. I seize upon it, like a castaway clinging to a life raft. Be well, everyone.

It's the denial that obscures the moving forward, it is what it is,accept that it happened, make amends and move on.

What grinds my gears... Having a clogged ear for almost two weeks and no remedies have helped!

OK... ranting is one thing... let's not turn things in to a political debate though, OK? ;)

Hmm no... I did not turn anything into a political debate here?

I did not start a political debate at all.

I was simply ranting about how I don't like the out of control prices of how expensive electronics are here due to corruption and see it is a bit unfair but then so again is the guy down the road that has no legs compared to me.

And this is the rant thread right?

:)

Just because I am ranting or angry at something and it might be connected to politics does not mean I want to start a political discussion here but I do understand your concerns about silly people starting an argument over nothing also giving me a head ache.

xD

I don't like head aches as well lol.

Just frustrated / ranting about the over inflated prices of electronics here due to scummy import duties and corruption - I am not interested in politics actually I hate them. If I wanted to start a discussion I know where the politics section is even though I only post in there once every 10 000 years if even then. :):):)

No intention what so ever to start a discussion about nothing and give myself a head ache :D I agree with you!

xD

What grinds my gears today is HYPOCRISY.

Don't say you believe in something but then don't do it... just practice what you preach... I don't like 2 face people...

Remedy for clogged ear that creates ground gears (keeping within this thread's theme)
Items needed:
One (1) eyedropper
One (1) bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide
One or two cotton balls
One (1) tube sock, filled with white rice, tied off
Microwave oven
Place 4-5 drops of H2O2 3% in the affected ear; allow to penetrate the ear canal to produce fizzing bubbles while lying down with the affected ear upward; after bubbles subside, place cotton ball in ear, and take the rice-filled sock, and place it in the microwave on high for three minutes (caution - sock will be very hot - let cool to give strong heat, without getting scalded); then, lie down, with the affected ear resting upon the sock downward for 20-30 minutes; if there is debris in the ear, it should work loose as the earwax gets heated, and finds a home in the cotton ball; if it's just earwax, you should notice a difference after gently using Q-Tips cotton swabs. I'm a singer, and it has worked for me (disclaimer - do this at your own risk - I won't be held responsible for perforated eardrums from Q-Tips, or anything else) - these directives (aside from the rice-filled sock, which is nothing more than a poor man's heating pad) came from a reputable ear, nose and throat doctor that treated me. If the clogged ear is from trapped air in the Eustachian tube, quit hanging out in those long lines over in the State of Colorado... hope you feel better.

You're boss looks like something borrowed from Western Culture (kind of like Hanna-Barberra's Yogi Bear); thanks for the cheering up, and I'll keep everyone posted - LW

Yeh I'm working for Yogi Bear. :D Cartoon character costumes like that are often used for promotions in shopping malls etc. Hanna Barbera, Loony Tunes and Disney characters, all unlicensed of course. Although I don't think Xilinhot Bear is an exact copy of Yogi, his nose is a different colour and his ears are smaller...but still smarter than the average bear. :)

Donald Duck was arrested for extortion in Beijing last year. He was scamming tourists and demanding money with menaces.

AY-AY-EEEE...! I'm Xilinhot Bear! Lookin' for a piccanic basket; meet my Disney friend, Donald 'The DUCK' "Two Toes": "Aww, thshut upp!"
Thanks for the cheering up; Mary's blood pressure is up to normal range; fluids are good, sepsis is being fought with antibiotics through a neck port. Heart cath still hasn't been done yet; her O2 saturation is in the low 90s; she's slowly improving, but not quite out of the woods yet. I'm stuck here in NC, as I have music work coming up soon, and we cannot afford me leaving; seconds turn into minutes; minutes into hours; hours into interminable verses of the movie tune "Love Story" - I'm wrecked. I buried three family members (grandfather, 1996; mother, in 1998 after being in a vegetative state from a stroke for 7+ years; my father, from cancer, in 2006) in a decade; being the first-born in an Italian family is so Middle Europe (sheesh); while raising two kids, and being married to an alcoholic. The marriage ended, my family dispersed. I don't need a 'pity party'; I just need a break. I'm more of a spiritualist, as opposed to conventionally being into religion - yet I find myself praying daily, to my Higher Being - for my Mary to get healthy, and fly home to me. Thank you for your humour (my Brit spelling nod to you) - LW

Let's hope life won't treat you with any more difficult dilemmas than this :p

Lol. First world problems. But really. Carriers just don't offer enough for what I believe I should be paying. It's 2014 and these plans, none of them even come close to impressing me.

Here's what will.
$50 a month + phone payments divided up by 12, 18, or 24 month payments.
Unlimited data, text, talk!!!! (For up to 5gb. Then data slows down for the remainder of the month.

What's so hard about that?

When it comes to cell phone plans, you notice a hierarchy within the business itself; the low-priced, no-contract plans (for example, Boost - one of many carriers that piggyback on Sprint) where call drops are the norm, as you go from tower to tower - I have Boost, and my fianc

Lol. Thanks for that post. I found it amusing. And yes, there is a bit of corporate greed, and yes its for good reason.. Surely if I'm paying $110 a month for a phone , I better not get any dropped calls.
If I'm paying $35 a month, surely I can expect some setbacks. I'm in the big city of Chicago. So its not in the middle of nowhere. Unless I travel but that doesn't matter because AT&T doesn't have ANY service where I travel to.

I don't think I have a credit rating. I never had a credit card.

You can listen to the 'live credit free' pundits on talk radio, or, if you're 18 +, and work making a decent wage, pay your bills on time, and have a checking & savings account - go to your bank first, to apply for a credit card; if that bird doesn't fly, try applying for any credit card; you may start off with a small credit limit and a higher interest rate, but if you make small purchases, and pay the credit card balance off every month - the credit card company's gonna say "Hmm... we gotta make some money off of this individual!" So, they'll raise your credit limit. Keep playing the 'pay-it-off-every-month' game, and be assiduous with it. You'll notice that your mailbox will have envelopes that say "You're Pre-Approved" on them. Check 'em out, and see if those credit cards'll have lower interest rates. If they do, call your current credit card company, and tell them that 'Freen Master Card' offered you an X % interest rate, and would they match it to keep your business? Most times, they will - and they may even raise your credit limit once again. It is at this time that you need to remain vigilant, and make wise buying decisions. Most Americans are credit-strong, and cash poor. I've walked that walk. Avoid it, at all costs - because you'll find yourself in a credit trap, with multiple cards paying the minimum monthly amounts, and somewhere in the distance, you'll hear 'The Big Credit Screaming Meemee' say: "GOTCHA" Bankruptcy, divorce, and other types of 'life mayhem' will ensue. Forewarned is forearmed...

The last thing I want is to be another person in debt.

LW, can you speak Mongolian? BTW what's "Selah", I know it's not Mandarin, and I don't think it's Mongolian.

It's Hebrew; essentially, according to the Amplified Bible via Wikipedia, it means to pause, and take notice; other theologians believe it to be a cue for music, or, 'this is truth'. The word is used a lot in the New Testament. As a former worship leader (which ended up making me depart from organized religion altogether), I was using the word for sfbloodbrother to amplify his opinion about not wanting to be yet another person in debt. I've eaten Mongolian barbecue, at an Asian restaurant - that's the only Mongolian that I know about (chuckle). I guess I'm not smarter than the average bear ;) Love ya, man. As the rednecks in the American South would say, "Yer a hoot!"

AT&T issue here. McDonald's promises free Internet. That's if and when you get connected, and every 5 minutes you have to reconnect to the Internet. Free isn't always better. Might as well just to to Starbucks to use their Internet.

MickeyD's free wi-fi. Tried it. There's always 6-7 female Herefords on FarmersOnly.com; hell, I'm better off at home with 3G, and an Internet Booster... AT&T has been ripping people off since the advent of FSK (frequency shift keying; touch tone phones) in '70-'71. One good thing, however - Bell Labs developed Unix in the late '60s; without it, no Linux...

Did I clear this thread? If there are AT&T fans out there, so sorry. In America, they were the only game in town at one time; problem is, even with a free market economy that encourages competition between companies like AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, GREED is what drives the boy wonders who run these outfits, and these boy wonders make the biggest chunk of money out of all the corporate employees, down to the troubleshooters on the ground. I'm not saying that capitalism, corporations, Wall Street, and 'The American Way' are all evil; it is the underlying greed that corrupts good efforts, all over the world. Aside from my fianc
