Why doesn't the USA pass laws like South Korea?? (Rhetorical question - the obvious answer - political contributions) Anyhow, starting in April all bloatware on cellular phones must be easily deletable by the user in SK.

I hereby declare Knox as bloatware! :D

Here is the web link.

Knox is the security mechanism required to support enterprise use, a particular sore spot where Android has been lacking.

You may recall constantly hearing about the use of BlackBerry devices by US government officials - because the BlackBerry was designed for enterprise use.

Knox was tested and certified for use by the US government, all the way up to the Pentagon approving it for Department of Defense use.

It's not going away and there definitely won't be laws passed against it.

Enterprise use is the final smartphone frontier for Android.

Knox or a future equivalent is required to get there.

While Knox is cool and all with it's DOD blessing, I think that when you (first) boot up the phone to start setup, it should ask you if you're going to use it for enterprise reasons. That would be waaayyyy easier than it is now :p

Yep, I'm not saying that it's the best or anything, just saying that it won't be considered bloatware.

Btw - Sprint announced some time that they'd make their bloatware so it could be disabled by users and they've done a good job sticking to that.

Do other carriers?

Last thing I'd like to see is legislation where the lawmakers are technically clueless to begin with.

Bloatware belongs at the feet of the carriers.
