Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Broke up with gf, she reports a post I made of her 9 year old daughters foul language towards my daughter and I, yes ME, gets banned for 12 hours? It was HER daughter's language! Wtf?

"Team Player" is a coercive tool used by bad managers to get their way.

-- If you have to ask me if I am a team player, then you haven't been paying any attention; you should already know if I am or not.

-- When you use that term with me, I am inclined to tell you to take a long walk off a short bridge without even processing the request.

or you could say...:D

Well it was cheap and it's been a good car for over the three years I've had it. This is the first thing I haven't been able to fix on her. I even did the water pump and that was a pain, especially with big hands lol. My next car will probably be rwd, or hopefully a 4wd truck.

Got a 2001 Ford Focus 4-door with the ZTS Euro package (dohc 4-cylinder, 17" rims, etc.). Auto trans, tilt, cruise, power windows/locks, CD, leather seats. It's okay for a non-Mazda Ford product. The extra wide rubber wears out struts, cv-axles, you name it. It's good on gas, and if you run synthetic oil, it runs well. Don't ask me how, but I almost bought a Ford Tempo back in the early 90s. I ended up with a new GMC Sierra; short bed, 350 V8. It sucked gas, but it was quick. Traded that in for a '95 Ford Aerostar. That was a beast to work on, and I've got big hands, too. Now, I'm barely able to change oil, let alone plugs, wires and coil packs. I've been eligible to join the AARP for going on two years. I know - that should be no excuse. Like Red Bear, I do what I can. Years ago, I restored a '70 Type 1 Beetle. After all the work done, that thing could do wheelstands*- I could eat Z-28s, Corvettes, whatever - starting in second gear, stoplight-to-stoplight. Those were the days... (* - I destroyed two exhaust systems in a week with that car!)

The Ford focus is a half Ford / half Mazda design.

I rotated my tires today and noticed that the rear brake pads are getting about worn down so I started to order some tonight and find out I need to pull the wheel back off again tomorrow to see if the caliper is dual or single piston.

It is a hybrid design from Mazda, but its look gets its cues from Europe - especially the three door. The newer Focus is a direct European design, according to Motor Trend and Car & Driver, and Ford's investment interest in Mazda has waned since the recession began that brought Ford to a complete corporate reorganization. Ford had sold their interest in their British and Swedish counterparts, as I'm sure you remember. Notably, Ford was the only US auto manufacturer that wasn't bailed out by the Bush administration.
