Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

There's some random loud beeping going on right now and I have no idea where it's coming from, and it won't STOP...yea that's what you want on a Saturday morning :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I could never get the hang of Welsh pronunciation and phonics, IMO Mandarin is easier. Hardest thing I find at the moment is trying to read Mongolian.

At least you can, mikedt. Being in your job description, I'm sure you do very well. Being an American who has never been to Wales or China, I'd fare as badly as a one-armed man hanging wallpaper.

I'm sorry, friend. Life ain't fair. Wishing you and your family the strength to deal with this loss.

So sorry to hear that, LoveWerks. 31 is so young. Pass along all of our collective strength and best wishes to your fiance. I'm sure that's the worst thing any parent can go through.

My condolences to you, LOveWerks. At least she is no longer suffering.

Revenant Ghost, I completely agree. My mother was in a vegetative state - on life support - for over seven years. When she passed in 1998, it hurt greatly - yet, the overwhelming feeling of relief was more than pervasive, as one doesn't really know what goes on behind the eyes of the sufferer. Heather is in a much better place, I'm sure. I'm not a fan of most organized religions, but I do believe that we all have souls, and that we all go on after the life we live on this Earthly plane. I still believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, as well. I guess I just outted myself as an agnostic Christian spiritualist-type, and I'm prepared for the flying arrows. Thank you for your accurate words, Revenant Ghost. LW

My sincere condolences and prayers to you and her family LOveWerks. I lost my best friend a little over two years ago from a blood clot. It was very unexpected. She was 41 and we'd been friends since we were 17. I couldn't imagine losing my child tho, there cannot be a greater loss. :-(

My kids hardly stay in touch with me, whbisondtr; divorces that take place when your kids are at the end of their high school years usually aren't good ones, and when both parents set bad examples (my ex is a functional alcoholic, and I used to be a party boy myself) - it makes me worry for their present lives, and lifestyles. Since my kids disagree with my sobriety, and believe that my ex's lifestyle is 'okay' with them, we're distant. I have been hurt from what happened to my fianc

Well it seems you're already one step ahead, knowing and admitting faults, but as anyone, we are only human and we each have our own downfalls. Mine was anger issues, and even today I catch myself going overboard on something that isn't that big of a deal. All you can do is hope your kids make the right decisions they need to. Makes me wonder why they don't like you being sober. Luckily I've never been addicted to anything but cigarettes. I'm a single dad of a 12 year old daughter, and that's hard enough lol. Just keep taking things one day at a time man, it's all you can do. Keep up with the music, I don't play but I have to have it, so I understand from that point. That's great news about your fianc
