Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I got a neighbor who has apparently 'GMO grass' because it looks fake and grows year round so he's mowing it even in the winter.

I thought Astroturf only had to be cut once ...

sneer

It ain't astroturf. It looks like it but it's real grass. It grows during the winter and still looks as green as it does in summer. If that ain't GMO then what is it?

Kansas and Kentucky share the same basic latitude so my guess is the grass you are seeing is Fescue. It's popular in Kansas and stays green year round. With ample moisture it often requires a few cuttings across the cold winter months. Just a guess...

it's the first I've seen like it. It's thick and very 'bouncy' when you step on it. but it looks 'wrong' next to the other homes with 'normal' grass. I certainly wouldn't want to mow year round though.

I'm abreast of the grasses commonly grown in Kansas. I haven't a clue what are the most common grasses grown in your area. Bouncy sounds like it could be fescue but other grasses have similar characteristics. I do agree that an odd yard of grass in the neighborhood is somewhat distracting.
Most of the areas where I mow lawns require like grass for all lawns. There is good and bad in being told what one can have for grass in their yard.

this area is a bit more recently constructed-but-connected-to-a-50s-suburbia area. The only rule is keep your lawn maintained; no rule for type of lawn, type of flowers, type of lawn art like an HOA.

Owensboro is an amalgamation of eras, with certain sides modern as all get out to areas still stuck in the '60s. I often prefer the latter, where the vendor malls and old general stores are. 20 miles west of hwy 56 is a township named Beech Grove that could pass for a set piece in the Andy Griffith Show

When you ran out of thyroid medication and today, I could not handle the stress level, but I walked outside a few times and cooled down.. Yeah goat milk with a dash of sweet splenda with some goatmilk type of walking abyss p%sspouring rain.

That sounds like where I am now. A mostly quiet place called Stanwell village, a suburb of London, that isn't London. And you're very likely to hear "Hey kids, get off my lawn!"

Shopping for a new TV is worse than shopping for a new car! I shopped until one this morning and was at the task again by six. I visited three stores and spent the rest of the day online comparing and reading reviews. The reviews all say this is a good TV but this one is better. You look at the better one and it has the same line... but this one is better. Before you know it, you are looking at TVs that are twice your budget.

I'm tired of every business telling me to go paperless. Plus once you give any business your email you suddenly start getting affiliate emails from their partners. Then either the business or their affiliate gets hacked and your email is suddenly on the dark web and you start getting a ton of spam email.....but businesses don't care.

My old provider finally switched off my account. My phone was being blown up by my email app for failed login. Deleting that email run was not made easy by the stock Sammy app. That email address was as old as the internet and I had no practice removing the account. :)

Someone told me to take away from my business account of where businesses get a hold of me,
seriously I had that gmail account for years, and the instant it saids no errors on it, she requested me to take it down,
but I can still access it via on my tablet though, no need to make hide it from her eyes, it is not like I forced it away.
Oh yeah my moto needed an FDR a few days ago.
Something really glitchy I could not figure out at all.
Oh wait yeah why would I need to have a reminder to go paperless? Do I look like someone who cares for that opinion on it?

Okay after taking my first swim since 99, after high school, I did not swim at ll, just probably did my own thing for the longest spell, so it was an odd thing to know though, I am still so super tied around the click as well..

A young man with a two year old ran a stop sign three houses to the North of me this afternoon and ran into my truck as I was coming home from mowing. He hit me on the passenger side front bumper. His Ford Focus didn't stand a chance with my Dodge Ram truck pulling a trailer full of mowers. It ruined my bumper and perhaps additional anchoring damage but it put the real hurt on his front left. He couldn't even get his driver's door open. We managed to pry the front quarter off of his tire so he could make it home. I felt sorry for the dude... he cried like a baby. Besides a failing to stop $150 ticket, it will jack his auto insurance up big time at his age. At least nobody was injured. Autos can be fixed.

Again I got enough sunlight, again I cut back on my caffeine, and stress level is at peace and tranquility, still why I am feeling so tired all the time?
