Razr Maxx or Galaxy Nexus?

audio is brought up to snuff w volume + app.
Through a good sound system. Through a mono rocket fish speaker it comes across clean and clear. Bluetooth plays great. I've experienced a minimum of problems once I figured how to share it with any other bluetooth device. You have to go into settings every time if you have more than one. Then select the device and you're on. Another bluetooth using the same device can create conflict. I'm new to this so this could be the same with all, but my husband's devices don't seem to have the same sensitivity. Like I said there is a definite learning curve .

u must be kidding.. BB9700 is like otoher BB series that has cut off bass frequency to protect small speakers from too much low frequency. so when you are using better speakers (audio out to real audio system), it has weak bass with poor frequency responds compare to GNex.

only device that can bragg about its sound quality over GNex is iphone. (margin is very tiny tho)
 
The only thing the maxx has going for it is the battery. I had the razr for 2 or 3 weeks before I got my gnex and would never go back. When I switched from my razr to the gnex, the gnex actually felt smaller, so I couldn't imagine getting something even bigger than the original droid razr.

There is nothing good about the razr other than its thinness, and there's nothing good about the razr maxx but its battery life. The gnex on the other hand is pretty thin, I get decent battery life with the extended battery, and on top of all that, I get ics, a 720p screen, and quicker updates from google for whatever OS upgrade they come out with later this year. By the time the razr gets ics, there will already be anticipation for the new OS.

Unless you just HAVE to have extra long battery life because you don't have access to a plug or charger during the day and you don't have a job and play games on your phone all day, or do have a job that requires a lot of talking on the phone, it really boggles my mind why anyone would get something other than the gnex. If you're going to get a top of the line phone, there are only really about 4 phones to choose from right now. The galaxy nexus, iphone 4s, htc titan, or nokia lumia 800. Other than that, there are a few other SGS II phones I might recommend to a person who wants an android and is not on verizon(and you don't want to buy the gnex off contract).

I had to pull the specs using the compare feature on the vzw site..... they both weigh the same, stock for stock!

My first impression was that the maxx was heavier.
 
ive decided to get the nexus and i am going to buy the extended battery.. does the cases from verizon(high gloss silicone black or blue) fit with extended battery? which screen protector is best?

Yes, but not well. Because its being stretched by the extendedbbattery, it presses the volume keys very easily.


The best screen protectors are steinheil oleophobics on amazon for $13.99.

This is not true. The extended battery adds a decent bump in battery life (few hours with medium usage) and fits just fine in all four cases I have tried. Those include the Verizon High Gloss Silicone, Seidio Active (this case does not fit perfectly with extended but still works), Diztronic rev 3, and Cruzer Lite Androidified (this is my clear favorite of the four).

I have the full screen XO skins protector and think it is superb.

i tried a few of them and have the seidio active right now. good case.

the seidio convert is the only case right now specifically made for the extended battery.
 
Both are excellent phones. I would prefer the Razr Maxx. I had the Nexus and didnt like the shape or the cheap plastic construction.

I'd rather have quality plastics, much lighter than metals!

RAZR's have a lot of plastic if you didn't know. To each their own!
 
Why don't you like the camera? I feel it is as good if not better than the iPhone 4 which had a great camera. I also feel it is as good if not better than most 8 mp cameras on phones

If you didn't like the shape of the Galaxy Nexus, how could you have possibly felt the RAZR was comfortable to hold one handed? The RAZR is awesome in landscape with two hands, but one handed usage is terrible. The Galaxy Nexus sits perfectly in the hand given the curved back and smaller width.

Also, cheap construction is definitely an exaggeration. It's not as industrial feeling as an iPhone 4S, but it does not feel cheap at all. I had a RAZR for a week, and despite its aluminum and kevlar build, I felt creaking in the body where the front and back pieces met. Materials aside, the RAZR "felt" cheaper than the Galaxy Nexus. Both, however, feel cheap compared to an iPhone 4S (but I'm pretty comfortable saying none of these phones are actually cheaply made).

I fully agree with this comment. I don't know how this phone got a rep of having a bad camera.
 
I actually created this account primarily because i wanted to have a forum for all of my android device questions but immediately to answer your question because i have both phones.

So far the maxx is nice and sleek and comes with a whole host of programs that remotely give access to third parties to do whatever they want even reset your phonr preibstalled. As for the nexus you get a nice amount of control over those functions and i prefer using it to the maxx.
