Yea well my uncles monkeys sister friends all had the Galaxy Nexus and not only does the screen crack but it also sprays them with poo when it happens!!!!!!! Then when I was at the Verizon store the manager told me 500 people were in line for the same thing!!!!
I have been reading all the Razr and Nexus posts..I am due for an upgrade as well.
Does the Nexus have a form of Gorilla Glass...like a different manufacturer?
and is the Gorilla glass really an important feature?...I am thinking if you drop most phones most screens are going to crack?

It has basically the same glass, it is not labeled gorilla glass but it is reinforced....the same thing basically just without the GG name.

nope its not same.
due to shortage of GG past 1~2yrs, manufacturers went for cheaper soda lime glasses instead.
Apple iphone started to use cheap chinese soda limes except front glass (ipad went to asahi's soda lime then went back to GG)
samsung's using asahi's soda lime glasses.
its softer and weaker than GG in general.

I don't see what Razr Maxx has over nexus other than huge battery. If battery is concern, I'd rather carry external battery pack like 8000mAh about 4X size of Nexus extended battery.
Granted other phones will get ICS this year, but they will be still heavily skinned unlike stock ICS in Nexus. I saw leaked video of Sense 4.0 on HTC Ville (it's pulled by HTC now), and my God, the UI doesn't look anything like ICS in my Nexus with lots of fancy but laggy transitions. I think Blur on Moto phones will carry over to ICS similarly. And still none of them seems to follow three soft buttons layout of ICS, still having four bottom keys below screen. No, thanks.

*disclosure: I'm on my first android, 2nd smartphone (if you can call the bb storm a smartphone), and 2nd phone with a good developer community (anyone ever do seem edits on a motoRazr v3m?).

Soda lime? Where are you getting your info?
You have had your fun, twice even in 3 posts.
soda-lime-silica glass is used extensively for things like durable bake ware, and a custom formula could be used for glass in smart phones.
However, without a source, I can understand that this is not credible information. I'm very skeptical myself.

The entire forum gets it - you are a Nexus fan boy!! Really, though, unless you have good insight please quit coming into these comparison threads and bashing anything that isn't a nexus. All phones have pros and cons, and in the end there are different phones for different people. Spending the money they cost, many people research differences between handsets.

Really it going to come down you YOUR preference. The Nexus can't be touched and i LOATH Motoblur. There are plenty of ways to charge your battery on the go, dont decide purley on battery life.
Go more for the look, touch and feel of the device and also the software.

As one who has used the RAZR, G Nex and Rezound...
I would pick the Maxx if I could at no cost. I have the Rezound and RAZR now. And if I could do it all over again...I would have just rocked on with my RAZR and had 2 old phones month to month on my family plan. .
I would also add the functionality of the device too. How the device functions after you get it....
And seeing the job Moto did with Blur and Gingerbread...I have a feeling they will do a good job again with ICS and Blur.

While my choice was and will remain the Nexus, I have to say I appreciate what Moto did with the MAXX. I hope it sells well and the other manufacturers realize that a phone which gets fantastic battery life is preferable to a phone that is the thinnest.

Completely agree! While I love my Nexus, battery life is pretty poor. I hated the screen on my Bionic, but everything else about it was pretty solid. Haven't seem a live Razr so can't compare the screen but have heard it's pretty good.
Honestly, they're two awesome phones but having the backing of Google, solid developer support, and a promise of AT LEAST one major software update are reasons that I'll stick with a Nexus
