So - last year, I got my Evo 6/6 -- launch day +2, aka 2 days behind the cool guys.

This year, I'm going for launch day -- aka, 2 days behind the cool guys! lma0!!

I'm sensing a pattern here... :D

(yeah, ok, last year, guys got theirs at Google i/o - those weren't cool guys, those were gods. :p )

Since I'm coming from an EVO 4G, the changes don't have me as excited like when my iPad came, my MacBook Pro came, my EVO 4G came. or whatever other toy I bought came. So for the moment I am being patient and hopeful it will arrive at my office around lunch time tomorrow when UPS usually stops by.
 
Past online orders have shown up on my doorstep in a shockingly short time....like the next day. So hopefully that is the case here. I honestly got caught up in the hype. I was dead set on getting this thing until the Photon reared it's ugly head and then I started to second guess myself.

And then this thing early order thing came up. I already feel kinda special being a SP Goldmember(lol). And then I felt kinda special for them to offer this. The fact that 6/24 is my bday also made me feel extra special...hahaha. So I clicked on the link and by golly, I ordered one!!!!!

I did have some remorse because It was somewhat impulsive because I really wanted to be able to compare the two devices. BUT.....the EVO has been such a wonderful phone and HTC has been supportive of it the whole way through. I have become so accustomed to the the great developers and the whole EVO community as a whole.... I mean I kinda like you MFers!!! I think we could have a beer together and get along just fine!!! Anyway, I guess all I am saying is I don't know what I would without y'all!!!! So I will happily go along and enjoy this fine device and learn along with the rest of you fine folks.

And for the folks that are just entering the EVO community from another device/carrier...you are not just buying a device...you are becoming part of a great community. It is a very tight knit group of some of the most helpful decent people on the internet. You will get all the help you need right here!!!

lol, mine was a total impulse buy too. I have a preorder at a Sprint store and still couldn't pass up the chance to get it early with the online order. Hopefully I can return those gift cards for the preorder, or use them towards my bill.
 
Lol I'd say this years launch on the forums has more hype than last years. By the sheer amounts of people, maybe not so much, but everyone seems so much more connected this time around. You guys make phone launches so much more incredible, and I'll definitely be back on the Android forums in the years to come for the Launch of the EVO 4DLTE, EVO X^2, and the EVO 9000+.

Somewhat of an impulse buy for me too... I kept telling myself I would wait to buy it until next week after I heard what the Forums had to say. The excitement overcame me and I just did it! :D

Add another one (or two, me & my wife) to the impulse buy. I was dead set against ordering online until this morning. Maybe I just wanted to feel special getting to order it early or maybe I wanted to make sure I had it for my birthday on the 24th, could have even been the fact that I haven't been impressed with the Sprint store where I have two pre-orders, lol.

I'm hoping to apply the gift cards against my bill, I can't see why I couldn't considering on the back of the gift card it says

"This gift card is redeemable for Sprint PCS merchandise or services..."

I don't know what other services they could be talking about so that's going to be my argument for applying to my bill.

Does Best Buy do refunds for their Pre-Order Giftcards? I thought I read that somewhere.... if not I'll just buy my case/screen protector there.

LOL, I knew there was no way you would be able to wait. Peer pressure is a bitch when it comes to this sort of stuff. Thats what makes the community as lively as it is.
