[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

I spoke to customer service and they said there's no way you can get a bolt delivered on Thursday. Per the rep Fedex' cutoff time is 5PM and AFAIK no one is going to be able to even place an order until midnight.

The CS rep was very surprised how little information she had on the bolt.

Hopefully their systems now reflect the pricing dbgoolsby just posted.

just saw a commercial for this new HTC phone called the "Thunderbolt" on ABC.... has anybody heard of it? It said it was available in stores NOW!

the cs rep i spoke with today said that he will call me back tomorrow at 10:00 am to place my order. he said it had to be placed before 4:00 pm in order to get it out tomorrow.

It really is terrible when ur 25 and feel like tomorrow is Christmas morning haha..The only thing different is I have to work until 12:30pm, then get to open my new toy. I will be SO pissed if the local VZW store is out of stock by then. If that happens...ROAD TRIP! (to the nearest store that has 1 in stock ha!)

Good-bye DARE, Hellooo THUNDERBOLT!

I called my local vzw corp store in NYC and they didn't even have the shipment yet. They said they will 100% have it tomorrow when the store opens, but they also had no clue what the Full Price of the phone was... WOW!

Yea, I went into the VZW store on 86th and Lex yesterday and asked how many they'd be getting...etc. etc... They had no idea.

This may be silly, but I was wondering if having purchased my phone via WireFly and extending my contract in any way affects the NE2 that I have sitting around? That doesn't evaporate does it? I wouldn't expect so, but I'm not that familiar with some of the minute of the way Verizon might handle things. Thanks gang.

your NE2 would be gone then. VZW did away with them

No, no, no....I would like a different answer....:p;)

Dang it anyhow. Oh well, not going to worry about it now. Thanks.

My wife just upgraded her phone about 3 weeks ago. She got the NE2 $30 discount. I believe you can use the NE2 if you are coming off of a NE2 contract.

But my understanding is that this is the last one you can use. Verizon has done away with them on all contracts in the past several months. So new contract = no NE2 from here on out.

I don't think Wirefly honors the NE2 discount though.

Haha. Yeah im only 18 and I dont want to sign my own contract yet and my step mom owns the account and they dont live near me so its the only way I can get it.

Ask to make yourself an authorized user to make account changes. Your account owner has the verbally state it but after that you're good.

Has no relation to your age by the way,, in case anyone thought that.

I never mentioned my NE2 to the WireFly rep. I was just trying to figure out if anyone knew if my NE2 would remain if I technically didn't use it or if it disappears when I extend my contract. I certainly wouldn't expect it to remain forever though. My contract wasn't due for renewal, but I did/do have an NE2 pending since November. I wonder if VZ would classify an extension the same as a renewal and just say, "Guess what! New rules! HA!"

Ha, just looked. My contract ends 18 March 2011.

I'm feeling old reading all of this :)

And then you think of me and my pet pterodactyl, still trying to rock a rotary candlestick phone, while I use my Evo to google "Thunderbolt rom" and suddenly - you're all chipper.

Forget the kickstand - I want my next phone to come with a cane. :D :D

BTW - Congrats one and all for sticking it out, and many good lucks on your upcoming Bolts!!!1! (with a totally modern "1" in there)

why $30?? I am anticipating my $50, I've been out of contract since September.

Hasn't it always been $30? I'm pretty confident (99%)...she got a $30 discount for her NE2 but I've only been a personal customer since Nov 2009 (these are our first upgrades through Verizon since then). Can't find receipt ATM to prove me right though...

I have handled our corp account at work for several years...but I tend to pay less attention to the discounts on new phones when it's not my money :D

Haha...I heard Palm might be implementing the built-in cane for all the old timers that have stuck with them since long before PDA's came with a cellular radio! :)

I can hear the commercials now..."Prop yourself up with WebOS!" :p

Thanks for the wishes...I am just anticipating the Dev community having to overcome battery issues as the main "target" of every ROM.

Yep...You signed a new contract with Verizon (even if you purchased through Wirefly). Your NE2 is gone :(

I'm speculating though...

What do you mean by "extension". I'm not familiar with that.

Hasn't it always been $30?
This will be my 3rd or 4th NE2 (and last unfortunately). Mine have always been $50. Some have been higher for others. I think maybe even as high as $100 depending on the size of your base usage - I think. I've always been on the $40 450 anytime minutes plan so mine have only been $50. I have never heard of $30 but anything is possible with Big Red.
