yeah, any of the first 3 files needed to work with htcdev.
I disabled norton anti virus, and disabled norton firewall and still got the same alerts....funny, this has never happened to me before, then again, I dont download those, cuz I dont need those.
I know I have norton, but ya know, its what came with my Dell.....:rolleyes:

Wierd...look at my first screenshot--it says "charlie" something in the url??
 
So this is my first time rooting, and I found the guide wonderful and easy to use. The only problem I have run into is locating the pc36img_supersonic_s_sprint_wwe_3.70.651.1_radio_2 .15.00.11.19_nv_1.90_release_161482_signed
file that I can actually download. They have all been removed or the links are bad, including the one given in the guide. If anyone can help me get one, this is all I need to complete the final step. Thanks

edit: ok i just switched the link out with the one from above. it should be all good now.
 
Thanks for the help! It worked fine this time during the download. I now have frustration after my small victory, due to during the loading of the PC136IMG on the bootloader it says checking and then this:

Main Version is older!
Update fail!
Do you want to reboot device?

I have followed every step in the Tacoroot method, and had success all the way through. It found the folder and was doing great until that popped up instead of success.

I am stuck on the 2.18 hboot and it is so frustrating to be so close to success. Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong, or what I can do to correct this?

hmmm...well, I highly doubt ocn linked the wrong pc36img file....what does your bootloader screen say...can you post what is on there?
Just to make sure....I know you said you have hboot 2.18...just wondering if your radio is different....:)
If you have posted that info before, I'm sorry but I didnt see it...:)

I doubt in any way that it is the file that was wrong. Because it identified it and was attempting the upgrade no problem.
HBOOT-2.18
RADIO-2.15
Here is what the HBOOT screen message is:
Main Version is older!
Update Failed!
Do you want to reboot device?
<VOL UP> Yes
<VOL DOWN> No

hmmm, not exactly sure what's going on but, your current radio, is it 2.15.00.09.01 or 2.15.00.11.19?
I would venture to say at this point, we need to wait for ocn to come on and see what's up. ;)

Edit: just saw your edit with more info on it...stand by :)

Edit again: you got thru all the tacoroot step with no issues at all, and you are just stuck at this step, correct?
 
question on gingerbread and I am a newbie, baseband version says 2.15.00.12.19, I assume that means HBOOT correct? But when I go through the the motion it says I have 2.18. So I assume I have 2.18, correct?

EDIT: Sounds like others are having the same problem?

Hello and welcome!
Your hboot version is 2.18
Your baseband (radio) is 2.15
The problem above, is something I personally have not seen before and is a slightly different root process to get totally s-off.
You can still unlock your bootloader and still be s-on to flash roms and such.
Just follow the guide and you shall be good! :)
