OK. I think I got it Fab. I'll redo the apk for testing in 15 minutes.

That was the longest 15 minutes ever. I made a really dumb mistake whilst rebuilding the apks and it took me all this time to get them compiled properly. Anyway, I've updated the OP with updated framework-res files (green AND white). I'm not awake enough to write down the steps. I'll do that tomorrow. Goodnight.
 
Glad you like it. Some family stuff came up so I am away from my pc. This is a patchwork of sorts and ill try to fix the errors as best I can. I am really hoping that those among us with artistic inclinations will roll this into their themes. Looking @ you Fab ;) :D
 
Also, your call of course, but I prefered the xmls to be image90 = 99%, image80 = 89% and so on. Since when you get to your 90% you have somewhere between 80 and 90% which can give you a false sense of security when you get 5%. If you go with higher numbers you know you at least that battery %. So if it reads 80%, you know you have at least 80%, or more. Then when you get to lower numbers, for example 5, you know you have at least 5% or more, not somewhere between 5 and 1.

Just a point of view, most probably don't care.
 
@aflat: yup that's true. i'm trying to find out why the theme is force closing and will edit the xmls as part of that change.

I think the xmls should be enough for fab to recompile the themes so I'm hoping he'll come out with modified themes. Working off of already modified the framework-res is probably causing some of these issues.
 
What am I missing? I try to use apktool to decompile your framework-res.apk and I get errors about the .9 files. Recompiling fails as well. Are you using apktool for this?
 
That's the whole problem; when you decompile an already themed framework-res.apk the .9.png files don't decompile properly (missing additional 9patch info). You don't get this problem when you decompile the original (unthemed) apk.
 
OK. Updated framework files in the first post. Crossing all everything crossable and hoping that everything is fixed. I don't have Beautiful widgets but Rom Manager is just fine now. Also, locations settings was FC'ing too but no more. If it's all good, I'll get cracking on Nextheme tomorrow.

Whew; Please donate to the REAL devs you subscribe to; this stuff takes a LOT of time and this is tiny compared to what they do.:eek:
 
Open command prompt.
type adb devices (if you don't see a bunch of numbers and "device" this won't work)
type cd \
type cd "whatever directory you stored the .apk in"
type adb push framework-res-g.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
type adb reboot

I'll put the zip method files on the OP as well.

So what needs to be changed in what xml files (or any other files) to get the 10 battery working? I already have the 10% increment png files that I want to use.
 
Should be good. If you're on ApeX with rEVOlution, try it out. I'm at work and will write the full instructions as well as do a Nextheme version when I get home.
 
Installing it now. Will let you know how the white goes and if the bugs are gone. Also, if it works out may I send a couple of shekels your way? I already gave to fab. :)

Shekels huh? Thanks. Honestly, I don't need the cash AND I'm no dev. I'm sure some DX dev somewhere needs the Shekels more. :D
Hope it works (I run it all night and no FC's or weird text that I could see).

I got NexTheme to do 20s last night with a circle battery, but I think I like your Batt Icon better.
