Root Revolutionary worked, recovery does not

Newbie
Hi!

i was trying to find an answer to my problem but couldn't.
I did install revolutionary, and it did grant me s-off. When i restart to check it says s-off.
My problem is that once i have to install superuseer from zip file, and i am in the revolutionary menu, any option i choose ..nothing happens..i only see big blue letters on the screen saying REVOLUTIONARY..
Obviously ..i did something wrong...but what?:)

Thanks

First, welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Did you find the option recovery in the bootloader screen? Then highlight recovery using the volume buttons and press the power button then the phone will boot to recovery and flash the superuser zip

Thanks for the welcome Andy!

when i do recovery from the screen (with teh 3 little androids), he reboots and i enter the revolutionary menu.

here i get the same problem again..when i choose install zip from sd card, i just get to a black screen with blue letters saying revolutionary.

nothing happens...if i press power button again..i get back to the menu. Doesnt matter what i choose..nada!

this is what i see on my bootscreen:

thanks ocn, my apologies for being in the wrong forum. Thanks for trying to help, lets hope someone will know more over here!

is this done on purpose to make it as difficult as possible:-)
ill feel really bad if this is written somewhere on the revolutionary wiki website....!!

so i guess i should not be using the pc36img.zip, was that one maybe intended for the evo?
(i tried to use that one but it was installing andthe installation aborted.

should i still install the su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip?This i couldnt do last time..but with the trackball secret unrevelaed..it might work now?:)

nope its not done to make it difficult its just a legacy code that was used to hide the screen that they never removed.
its scared us all and the only place that seems to acknowledge this phenomenon is our guides on this site.

youve come to the right place
:P

Yeah it got me too. You need nothing more than a massive panic attack the first time you root a very expensive piece of electronics.

Read the link in my signature, if you downloaded the root file from the revolutionary wiki site it should be ok, there arent seperate ones for different phones.

thanks for your help guys!

once i found the secret trackball move...everything else worked..and the phone is finally rooted:)
now its off to reading the tutorials for my next steps..flashing...partitioning my sd card..
lets see how far i get!

We recommend you follow the guides on here, as we support them (not because they're best imho), but if you follow them and something goes wrong we have a better idea how to help out. At the end of the day though it's your choice.

yeah i planned on doing that anyways..as you guys ar efilled with important secrets:)

its just that that link was on the EVO thread..so i am not sure if i can just follow that one or is tehre a similar page on another part of androidforums..specially for the Desire:)
