Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Can confirm nfc exchange between n4 and elite haven't had a chance to test further. Get the camera and signal bug sorted and its a RC1. Well done Phenom.

It was on the Kyocera Rise to. (Probably a stock ICS thing)
It encrypts the home screen so every time you turn the screen on you have to enter a password to unlock it. The only way to take it off is a data wipe.

System/security/lock screen. You can use pin/password.

Will you please help me do this correctly. I'm on a virgin mobile LG optimus elite and i need help flashing the CM rom.

I've got some weird issues going on that I haven't seen reported. When I do a clean flash of the ROM, I get extremely poor wifi signal when trying to connect to my router (disconnected shows the router at full signal strength). The only way I've found around that issue is to restore data from a backup.

Also, everytime I try to access the "More..." menu under settings to check that NFC is on, nothing shows up except a black screen and Settings eventually stops responding.

I have not touched wifi since it was fixed so it must be your router and the only way to get a black screen and a not responding message is to try to use Google wallet.

The launcher section in settings >interface is gone. Or is it just me?

Yeah there is a new launcher that is lighter but has fewer features. On a computer you can extract the old Trebuchet.apk or whatever it's called from /system/app from an old build and plop it in to the new build if you want the old launcher.

I can't get the 2 to communicate. I've tried with and without apps. Going to flash the elite back to stock tomorrow and try it's NFC just to be sure it works.

I was using android beam got an ndef msg to transfer and photo. What were you using?

Does it work correctly?
Okay I got it working.
You have to have content open on one of the devices to beam something. I was just at my home screen for both.

Still trying to beam files. So far just web pages and play store links have been beamed.

[edit]Attempted beaming a photo from my N4 to my elite. It says the elite doesn't support beaming of large files. Something else to consider when attempting a beam, the NFC chips must be aligned. Not so easy on two different sized devices, one of which has no removable battery cover so the exact location of the Rebel base... NFC chip is unknown. As far as I can tell otherwise, NFC is working 99% (Google Wallet will not complete setup).[/edit]

I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but my phone's notifications, ring tones, and alarms don't play when I receive a text, call, or my alarm goes off.

Are you sure the phone is not in silent mode, or that the volume levels in System Settings -> Sounds are not all the way down?

Absolutely, this has happened with the last two releases of this rom for me as well. All volumes are maxed, silent mode is off, quiet hours are disabled, and the ringtones/notifications don't play when I select them to hear what they sound like.

Wiped data, cache, dalvik, flashed rom, flashed gapps, flashed center clock, ran fix permissions (every time I flash a new rom).

* Also, as a side note, my flashlight won't turn on, but I figured that was a camera related issue.

All the sounds work fine for me. Torch does not and yes it's because of the camera issues.

FWIW, I do not use the center clock mod.

If she is only ever on WiFi it is a fantastic device, otherwise it is a loaded streaming pile of crap. It overheats, has poor cell reception and dismal battery life off WiFi.

When I replaced my elite my wife said she absolutely did not want it as a hand me down.

My Elite was absolutely perfect pretty much. I had it from last June up until February. No problems at all.

Just get the phone for yourself and see. Sometimes their defective like Macfett's. Just send it in and make sure you tell them you want a new one not a refurbished one.

I've had the ringtone issue with every build. When someone calls me all I got was a very low chirp. The only way I got any to work was to completely delete all ringtones and put the one I wanted to use in the ringtone folder.
