Root [ROM][4.1.2]AWE Inspired Moonshine White/Ginger V2.9a Final[Works with stock device]

If u followed the stock guide it installs philz?? So u must have skipped that step. Im assuming by android system recovery u mean (e3)??

Yes I am speaking of "Android System Recovery (3e)". I followed your guide exactly, no skipped steps or anything. This isn't my first rooted phone with a custom ROM.
I used to be able to load philz. My question is why it just says ftm when I hold volume up and the camera button when booting. Have you tried it? Seriously it's strange and I was looking for an explanation, I would try to figure it out myself if I knew anything about programming.

Ftm is (field test mode), did u reflash stock recovery???

I've done nothing to my phone since I flashed your rom. No more flashing, no new .Zip's. I'm trying to figure out where philz went because I had it before. What is field test mode for?

Let me say this again, I side loaded Philz FOR SURE.. I have gotten into the philz recovery before several times because they're working on towers in my area so I've been frequently updating prls and profile, and every time I update I clear my cache and dalvik cache, as recommended by quite a few devs.
This should not cause philz to disappear, am I correct? Last time I got into Phil was yesterday.

As far as field test mode, it does nothing but show me "ftm". All I can do is restart my phone because no buttons work at that point. And can't you check your signal in the android settings menu anyway?

No philz should not remove itself without flashing a different recovery, u didnt get prompt for any updates correct??

Nope no updates prompt or anything. I'm so confused as to what happened.... I haven't even clicked any update other than prl and profile

Nope no restore or anything. I'm running short of ideas. The correct combo for Philz is volume down and power, correct? Just making sure I didn't go ******** since yesterday.

Yes thats correct for whatever recovery is installed, u can also pick it from reboot menu or toggle :D

OK so I just rebooted to recovery from the power button menu and it still brought me to stock recovery. I'm lost as to an explanation. What is the easiest way to flash a recovery without a computer?

Download Recovery Tools...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools

Download the recovery of your choice and place it on the root of your SD card(Make sure the file is named "recovery.img"). Back up your existing recovery then follow the simple UI of the app to flash the new image. All inclusive, very simple and no PC required.

OK to address another issue. My battery has been overheating while charging, and it stops it from charging. Is this a hardware issue for all awe phones, or will underclocking my phone fix it?

Slightly. Also close out unneeded apps. Lastly delete apps you don't use.

If for whatever reason you get stuck at ftm screen, connect to your pc and open a command prompt from wherever adb is located and type adb reboot-bootloader. From there you can fastboot boot recovery.img (make sure the img file you want to boot is in the same folder as adb)
I usually make folder on my desktop with all the files I use for commands and backups of my roms, cwm, apps, adb, fastboot, etc.

As far as charging i have never experienced battery over heating, has it only happened since use of this rom?? This rom uses stock kernel which should not need under clocked.

Is there a way to remove Phil'z recovery and install CWM? Phil'z seems to be having issues on my phone. Can I install CWM over Phil'z, or do I have to remove Phil'z first somehow?

A glimpse of things to come;)

The overheating did not start until I installed the rom. Overheats during charging and while in use doing anything, games apps and general use. The overheating also seems to be waaaaay worse if I use any charger except for the one that came with the phone. I'm thinking it's a hardware issue with my phone, but something in the software could be pushing it too hard
