Hi Brittnearl, i used the link from the first page and followed the directions in the zip, flashed it connected to a windows 8.1 laptop. the strange thing is that the signal strength it sees fluctuates it drops and then reauthenticates, connects for 10 seconds and repeats. In any case thanks for all the work except for the wifi issue i see its very nice
I don't know how to do that. In recovery I don't see an option just no files found
i have a possible bug to report. i just got one of these phones, brand new and unactivated. i downloaded Stock device White KitKat AWE rom install kit and went through the instructions. everything seemed to go as it should, but then when i rebooted i was met with the 'activate this device' screen. if i selected activate, it would send to manual activation and just spin and spin and do nothing. if i let the device time out (it attempts 5 activations before giving up) it sends me to manual activation and just spins and spins. so basically i'm stuck on the activation part and can't get past it. i actually don't want to activate it at all, and just use it as a media player. i've read if i put it in airplane mode it wont ask for activation, but i don't know if there is a way to do that before it asks to activate the device.
If u hit the home button it should take u out of it?? (Not sure as my device is activated) then get a root file manager and delete dss.apk from system/app directory
This is not a bug as rom is ment for activated devices will update op
firstly, thanks for the rom!
just a couple minor annoyances.
status bar is messed up on mine (using white kitkat rom)
the icons and text on the status bar is missing.
i have a empty black status bar most of the time but it'll randomly fix itself after getting some notifications. perhaps its something i installed (xposed? hangouts?) as it seem to work fine for the first few hours of installing the rom.
the DroidSansFallback.ttf font included in the rom was missing a lot of characters for east asian languages, fixed by manually replacing it with another DroidSansFallback.ttf.
no, unfortunately none of the buttons do anything. i tried that several times before posting here.
what am i suppose to do now?
off the top of my head, only module that affects status bar that i have installed is gravitybox. will do some trial and error uninstalling later tonite when i get home. Most likely something from xposed. I am having none of those issues. What modules did you install? Specifically any that have settings that will affect the status bar.

I recommend using adb to get to and delete dss.apk from system/app directory. You can Google adb file management to put you on the correct path to get there. After its been deleted the activation nag should stop.
Edit: [TOOL][ADB][ROOT] Windows Android Commander USB-WIFI File Manager built-in AUTO ADB - xda-developers
This should do for delving into the android system files. If not there are plenty of others.
thanks, i'll try that.
