This is a bit of annoyance but whenever I send a test I get a toast message asking me to insert a sim. Anyway for me to disable this?
That's a hangouts 2.1.X issue as far as I can tell.

Are you using the black or white ROM and what are you using to text?

White ROM and using the latest hangouts to text.
Ah ok.
Yup its hangouts. If it really bothers you, you can use Google voice for now. It works just as goods for sending texts but you will be sending them from your Google voice number. Nothing can be done till next hangouts update. Hopefully.
I was wondering what features have been worked on/are being worked on for the next release?
for what its worth i was able to sideload AWEsome Rom 1.1 and i was able to get past the phone activation. thankfully the home button worked in that rom... not sure whats different between the two roms but just wanted to mention it in case this one could be updated down the road to allow the same activation bypass
There's an extreme amount of difference as far as appearance and option features. The AWEsome Rom has the ability to overclock to 1.8 ghz, but it's not entirely 100% stable. I think it's stable enough for me, enough to have tried to get the kernel working with this Rom. I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Anyhow, if you're wanting a more feature rich Rom, go with this one, If not then that one is cool. Not sure why you can't get pass activation, home button generally allows enough time to get into options and set airplane mode on.
I agree with starkraving our device has a sketchy recovery that formats when it feels like it, all of the issues with me and chris's rom have been due to this. besides the black version which is google fault lol, toggles in tabbed settings and blank status bar before first notification, this being said our rom is as stable as a stock device
I personally think the biggest issue with our roms for this device in general is our recoveries. They're slow, problematic in formatting and or clearing partitions. Example formated system and still had residual apps from a previous flash. I think we need to pull resources and work on a better recovery. As far as our updates getting "wonky" I'm not sure what you mean.
I didnt mean wonky as in broken, I meant as in have a habit of not working as intended. Your work has really pushed the capabilities of the android system to show whats possible in terms total overhaul of look and feel. Its truly awesome how far you two have taken this rom so far and I know itll only get better ^_^
The tabbed settings switch button issue just to be fair is a mod/device wide issue. Its not just specific to this ROM. As far as the blank status bar, snap a screen shot and it toggles it . As mentioned before both roms are a better alternative to ZTE/Virgin bloatware. While at this point its safe to say they're not comparable anymore at all in terms of options and cosmetics. Its completely apples and oranges. One is a deodexed/debloated stock ROM with the OC Kernel. One is deodexed, debloated, stock kernel(both cores enabled by default), initd support, most of the most popular AOSP/CM(10) mods for 4.1.2, removal/editing of deprecated Gingerbread code and images, the elimination of ZTE code...one piece at a time...as stated both are better choices over stock. So pick your poison.
**Edit**
On a development note work on the Black version will cease until there's a permanent fix for play service authentication/update issue we're having with some (not all) heavily modified GApps. When/if this issue is resolved updates will continue.
As far as not working as intended what exactly do u mean?? I think a unstable kernel thats causes reboots and with certain devices bootloops is "wonky"
Yeah thanks to the latest updates to GApps, anything modded (and I mean ANYTHING) to the app will cause the authentication problem. Using a previous version of them without allowing updates is plausible, but stopping it from updating (and of course it working in the first place) would be necessary to fix the issue at this time
GG Google...GG
Theres some sort of authentication/SIG check that's borking everything
No doubt. I was referring to the issues others had posted between the two versions. I'm not saying theyre NOT working, but appear to be...off(?) for some users. Maybe I didnt read their reports right. Idk, I just woke up, excuse me lol.
Like I said I will be working on that issue when I get the chance, its just not in the cards at this moment. I dont have enough experience editing the kernel to totally fix whatever rb and cdz did. Looking at the git makes my head spin lol. Then again, I didnt have any previous experience doing what I did so far to AWEsome (as in small edits/removal of some code, deodexing) so I guess I'll have to get on the ball.
I wish I knew more about recoveries as well to figure that out too. Its all in the research I suppose...
