Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

Your battery is going to drain when you use wifi and LTE, more so on LTE. There's no way to combat drain from usage, but there are for standby periods. Apps like juice defender will improve life when not in use.

well it ran at 1.8 the whole time I was out and didn't revert back any. You must have been right michael. Weird how having it hooked up to the pc would do that. As technology gets more advanced it gets more buggy.

I find it funny how much time i spend trying to get the phone to run perfect when I would save much more time if i would just not mess with it at all and wait the extra second to do things on the phone (but wheres the fun in that) :P But I reckon most of us here could say the same.....Think about it.

[update]

Plugged phone back in to pc and used it as mass storage for about 10 minutes and it stayed running at 1.8ghz...now I'm using as an internet connection and it's reverted back to 1.5. seems you were spot on michael. At least I know why it's doing it now.

Hello, not sure if you heard about LG Spectrum getting OTA update soon but not ICS. (Version 2.3.6) I couldnt be able enter the url about the OTA update, it wouldnt let me. (Since I just signed up)

I noticed the music app still running in the background even tho not using it , I test removed it and noticed battery increase little. Also for the 4g LTE, I switched to 3G and it saves more battery that way, 4G is good for streaming videos, etc. I sometimes do switched to 4G for video chat then switched back to 3G.

I noticed rom version 1.1 run much better than version 1.0 related with bootloop. Havent try version 1.2 yet which will do tnt

That's been discussed and I believe mt is working on integrating the update.

The music app is a pain, just like most of the other bloat LG dumped in there. I froze it long ago since I don't have a need for yahoo music.

I used Antutu Cpu master and had to "disable Perflock" to get it to stay overclocked.

Were you able to disable Perflock using Antutu CPU Master?
Or is there a way to edit something like WinMo with reg edits?

For some reason I think that System Tuner Pro and ROM Toolbox Pro are conflicting when it comes to clock speeds.
Sometimes I find that after setting the max to 1.5, I check back and find it set to max 1.8.
I also find the CPU temp to be upwards of 140deg.
For now I have flashed the PopcornKernel-v1.0 just to keep the CPU from cooking. Runnin @ around 80deg.

From what I read about Perflock, it should already be disabled in the custom kerlel.

My wife's device keeps changing the back-light settings even with auto disabled. I think her sensor circuit might be at fault. I will flash the stock nandroid on hers and see if it still happens.

Yeah ill be switching back to stock then, ill sacrafice speed for much longer battery life I could get 36+ hours stock with extended battery and freezing a couple apps. This was without Juice defender and having 4G on the whole time. I can't even get 12 now with out juice defender. I can get 12 with juice defender on but I don't like it. Rom is damn fast though props. Maybe ill change my mind when I go back to stock I dunno.

When I have my phone plugged in it changes it's clock settings by itself. Even in my wall charger. Sometimes It's changed it to as low as 1025mhz. I manaully have to change it back to 1.8ghz but it will soon change it again. It also will go back to the speed I set it at when I unplug it. As long as I'm not plugged into anything it runs normal.

My phone never overheats and I've yet to see it over 105 degrees and thats while I'm using it with it plugged in. So heat isn't an issue. I just wish I could get it to stay on the clock speed I set it at. I don't know if there is anyway for you to address this in a future update michael but I wanted to give you some more feedback. I love the rom though and it's running super stable and smooth.

@mtmichaelson

Would you be able to create a stand alone zip for the kernel? I wanted to try popcorn, and if I don't like it, then return to blitz. Thanks for all of your hard work!

BTW, where is the download link for 1.2.1? I must be blind because I can't find it.

The link is labeled as 1.2, but will download as 1.2.1. I believe you can just reflash the 1.2.1 zip to revert back to blitzkrieg kernel

anyone notice the brightness change on its own?? i havent pinpointed exactly what causes it.. nut when i have the brightness all the way down it will randomly jump to about 50% brightness

That's due to the light sensor on the screen. If on 'auto', it dims when the light is brighter and brightens when it's darker. I've found its less noticeable on the BrokenOutRom than stock.

i always keep auto off... i normally keep brightness all the way down.. unless i need it higher... im mostly never awake during the day.. the brightness changing on its own ****s with me while im driving

was just chatting with a friend who has an HTC rezound with a leaked version of ICS rom on it and I was telling him how I got 7303 in antutu with my spectrum with michaels rom and kernel and so he decided to run antutu on his rezound and he got 6500. Well done mtmichaelson!

Great Rom, loving the smoothness. The only thing that's bugging me is the clock in the center, is there a way to get it back on the right hand side? Also is there a way to increase zram?

I knew i wasn't the only one who hates the center clock! :P Currently there is no way to change it but I've voiced my hatred of it as well and maybe michael will make a version with the clock in it's rightful spot! But after awhile you get used to it. But hopefully it will be moved in a future update.

Yea I've been told this phone dims even with auto off, but I always use auto so I've never tested.

Hello all! Here it is Broken Out Rom for the LG Spectrum!!! It has been fully cleaned out to decrease size and to increase speed. It will continue to be a work in progress! I hope you all enjoy!!!

I love this ROM. Way better than stock. I have been using it since it came out. The only issue I have seen with continuous use is that with "CRT Screen Shut Off" mod, my screen has developed greenish band in the middle of the screen, as if it is a" Screen Burn" when it is off. Is there any way I can disable this mod? Thanks again.

Have you ever used cyanogenmod on other phones? I've never heard of that mod causing a green line or screen burn and I've had that effect on various roms and various phones.
