Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

how do i fix the reboots!!! i really want to run this rom, and when i just try the kernel it still reboots a lot, and on stock i never have random reboots, soo i dont know what to do.

I've been running at 1296 since last night with no reboots. I had my wife run her stock spectrum through antutu for the hell of it, and the results showed her spectrum as running at 1296 as well. Is it possible that this could be the stock setting even though it's marketed as a 1.5?

I'm guessing you had it plugged in while you ran it. It's definitely set to 1.5ghz by default. But when you plug the phone in it's reduces the cpu clock speed.

That is very curious. I wonder if your onto something. I too had fewer issues when I ran @ 1296.

You should read this forum more. There's many reasons for reboots, from specific apps to overheating. Certain apps aren't working well with the lg stock rom and all the variant roms like BO.

i have read through the entire thread about the random reboot but it just happens for no reason, like in a 1 minute or less after i boot up after flashing the rom it just reboots i dont even have the chance to use TB to restore apps or anything at all

Anyone have problems with GO Launcher EX on this ROM? Go is my favorite launcher but it seems to resize all the widgets randomly a few times a day and I have to force stop the launcher to fix it. Don't think it's the ROM, wondering if it is the odd long narrow screen. Had same thing happen on Eclipse ROM as well.

Are you wiping data, cache and dalvik before you flash?

No, you shouldn't have to. Wiping all 3 should do the trick.

So after you flash and reboot fr cwm, it immediately reboots all the time, before you add/restore any apps? Have you tried skipping the Google account portion of activation? There's a chance when you sign in, it's restoring bad data backed up by Google.

the first 3 times it rebooted very quick, and it doesnt even show up the activation thing, and then i reflashed it and rebooted it and got lucky and got to browse the internet to this website then 5 min later it rebooted and then i gave up and went back to stock

when it boots up should i wait a little bit before i do anything?

That's not a bad idea, mine hangs on the activation screen. Takes about 5 mins to tell me it was already activated. In the past I've had a reboot there. Generally, I just let it sit before I add my accounts. Then I reboot.

I generally don't, but if you're having issues, it's probably not a bad idea. Use some root-cause analysis to try to single out the error and waiting would let you do that.

Mine always reboots in the first 5-10 minutes after flashing, I don't do anything after the flash, just let it sit after it boots up

ok i am now backing up apps on TB on stock to install BO rom will see if it reboots
First, try restoring with data. If you get reboots, wipe user data in settings and then restore just the apps.

I find it's the user data on some of my apps that's causing the problem. Right now, I'm getting some random reboots on GoSMS, so I'm going to wipe the data and see if they continue. Never had this problem on other phones, but it might just be those phones ignored corrupt data.

No telling what is causing the issue, currently I am on BO 3.0 that I installed without any data or app restores and I still have random reboots.

flashed the rom and booted up and it worked for about 5-10min then rebooted, then from within an hour and a half i could restor 10 apps from TB within each reboot and i had about 10 reboots within that time and i never got to restor all the apps but now im just keeping it in sleep mode and using it sparingly and for about another half hour ive been doing that without reboots but im going to switch and tryout playfulgods new rom

EDIT: the rom isnt out right now im going to try just the kernel on top of broken out rom

This ROM is described just as everyone has described it. To keep the review simple and sweet, I won't stress on small details.

Broken Out is definitely a first step above the Stock Rom, there isn't a debate there. From better battery life and ultimate performance via OC, the developers have done a superb job in making their ROM attractable. However with speed and stability, comes with an ironic price. You will experience reboots. Random reboots. When the Spectrum becomes unresponsive, it isn't lag, its a reboot coming on its way. So while it may be better to flash this ROM its undesirable reboots might just be enough to push people away. However for me, I didn't care. I'd have random boots on Stock ROM anyway plus a few other issues like draining battery life. That was insane! I couldn't use it for 5 hours of moderate use. So is Black Out worth it? I would answer a sketchy yes.

Broken Out beats stock ROM side by side, and the reboots, well they're worth it. Btw, the Plague ROM isn't bad at the moment.

Not everybody has reboots, I have been running BO for months and only time it's ever rebooted was in a hot car running GPS and navigation so it was most likely a heat issue not ROM related. That's even running ADW and with full apps and data restores using Titanium Backup. If you were having that big an issue even on stock you probably need a replacement.
