The LG one grew on me, i'm kinda missing it =/I like the aosp lock screen... It's far better than the stock lg.
Rom toolbox works for changing boot animations as well.
... and that's what I heard could happen, so I've never tried. I forgot who, but someone mentioned RTB doesn't update the img correctly, so it can loop. The better method is to get the png files and paste them into the correct folder of the rom. Haven't tried that either.be cautious and make a back up, (should go without saying), i was playing for a bit with it, had a few work, then got stuck in a bootloop. restored my backup and then had to use the cwm loop fix. Just wanted to caution folks is all.
I've gone back to using stock the past few days. Not one reboot at all. I do miss BO,, so much better battery life and less lag, just could not deal with the rebooting any longer, nor figure out out, not even a fresh install helped me, would just get worse the more I used it. Sucks, but nothing to be done.

thats what ive been saying the whole time at the other thread - http://androidforums.com/spectrum-all-things-root/568751-random-reboot-causes.html
But people kept getting mad at me that its not that its not this.
I went to B.O. rom last week and i just couldn't take the random reboot. I probably had for about 2 days before i went back to stock. I probably had a total of 10 reboots when i was on B.O. Right now im on stock root with the unnecessary apps frozen and i have had no issues what so ever like no reboots and the battery life is better. When i was in B.O my phone was hella over heating. then when i went back to stock the heating stopped.
I bet all of you guys that its the kernel thats making the reboot and overheating problems
I know it is the kernel, I returned to stock just incase we get ics soon.
It's not the kernel because many of us had random reboots on stock. I would venture to say it's the lg crap added to aosp to make the stoclk
I have a question. Since I've only had 2 smartphones, first being a droid charge, and then my spectrum, both of which have random reboots time to time...is there a such thing as a smartphone that never gets reboots?
BTW my charge rebooted way more than my spectrum ever has.

So yesterday VZW sent me a certified like new Spectrum since I've had numerous Thunderbolt replacements. Basically I worked as a sales rep for VZW some years back and knew all the right buttons to push to get out of the bolt and into something different without using an upgrade. Saving that for the next Nexus phone. The bolt was a nightmare being the 1st 4G phone, most of the initial bugs were fixed via VZW (painfully slowly as usual) the rest through a vibrant developer community. However battery life, like on most HTC phones was atrocious and I had the embarrassing humped extended battery that the chicks sooo dig. Plus it could never hold 4G, the 3G/4G switch was painful if it happened at all, more often than not it put you in 1X. So consequently I just locked it in 3G all the time. Anyways got the Spectrum, rooted it within an hour of FEDEX delivery and was sad to find there are only 2 ROMS for it
From reading through the 2 massive threads on each ROM I'm guessing everything is on hold till ICS drops. So I wanted to chime in here and thank these 2 developers for their work. Hoping maybe an AOSP flavored ROM similar to Cyanogenmod is in the works. HTC sense was pretty and at times buggy but tolerable, but this LG whatever the heck it's called skin is just atrocious. WTF were they thinking? Anyways just dropping my 2 cents worth thanks for the great work guys! Lastly if anyone has any VZW type questions feel free to PM me. I worked there for a year when I got layed off from my regular job during the brunt of the recession and I know the ins and outs of what reps and stores can and can't do for you if you need your phone replaced etc.
... Shoot! I'd take one JB rom over 6 ICS roms any day.
