Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

its weird my firmware version says vs920v6 but my android system image is still 2.3.5. anyone know why this is happening. and everytime i try to update it fails. when i try to do ota update it says its up to date. i guess im gonna go back in and do a stock recovery for v6. i think doing the v4 screwed it up
 
just tried it again. and nothing. did the backup in cwm then did the wipe. then install from zip. installed the kernel, rebooted and all it did was go back in cwm. i had to do the bootloop fix on it. someone please help me

you arent doing something right. Your post sounds like you are but obviously you aren't. The spec is super easy to flash roms on so I don't know how you are messing it up. but just to make sure, this is how you do it.

1. download AIO and broken out

2. Extract contents of AIO onto desktop or some folder of your choosing

3. run AIO and run option 3 and sit back and let it do it's thing.

4. place the broken out zip onto your sd card

5. boot into CWM using rom toolbox or some other app that allows for such (do not use the button combo unless you have the bootloop fix)

6. run wipe data/factory reset

7. install zip from sd card/choose zip from sd card/find broken out and run it.

this is all there is to it. I just typed that from memory. if you are doing all this correctly and not getting any errors along the way then it will work. If it's not working you are missing something.
 
i believe the problem is that i was using the button combos to get into cwm. but i not sure. i gotta run and do something and ill try when i get back
 
still not having any luck with this. i had this rom before and installed it without any problems. i followed the instructions to a tee. im close go giving up on this
 
Other than themes, what would you all like to see updated? I'm pretty happy with it as-is. For GB, it's as tight as you could expect it to be.
 
Out of town all weekend, did not bring a laptop either, and not too sure i can do it from my phone, but if someone wants I'll put up an updated Broken Out 3.0 with current apk versions (no other changes), so you don't have to update after a flash, not much else I can do.

I agree, would be neat to have a couple of themes available.

Maybe some alternate startup animations.

Did I mention themes?

A different unlock screen

A different notification pull down menu

I have a theme ive been working on. has a different lock screen and notification pull down and notification bar. i just need someone to make a flashable zip for it to install right on BO 3.0. if anyone can help i can send link to the files.
